Buyers Beware of this Company.
Kitchen Dreams advertised ex MFI kitchens in our local paper. The Salesman Dave Buckel assured us these were the real thing so we placed an order for £2430.00.How stupid we were. One corner unit had obviously been assembled before (without success) and been repacked in the box. The plastic supports were clearly rejects from the moulding machine. The Cupboard doors have the holes for the hinges drilled in the wrong place, the edging strips are peeling off the units. Nothing fits the way its should. The whole kitchen consists of rejected or wrongly manufactured parts. It is a disgrace. I wish I had checked them out on the internet before I bought from them. So what can I do. Not much if you read all the negative comments. Don't be like me and think you are getting a bargain. You are not. Kitchen Dreams?
Kitchen Nightmare more like it. Stay well clear of this lot.

Interesting to see recent posts only have good things to say about KDD...I'm still waiting for parts of a kitchen due to be delivered in January, I've had to re-send requests/info that they should have on record/fed back by the delivery driver IF they were properly run. They insisted I pay cash which I found odd too. At the end of the day they probably aren't worried if the authorities get involved, it's basically free customer care for them. They get facts/info of a complaint, law and solution provided to them for free. I'm sceptical I'll ever get the granite work top I've paid for - totally unreliable is my experience of KDD

Kitchen Dreams supplied me with a kitchen that was exceptionally cheap and the quality was even better! I shopped around getting quotes from various companies like B&Q and Howden’s, but I couldn’t go ahead with the order as I didn’t have thousands of pounds to spend on a kitchen.. That’s when I came across Kitchens Dreams who quoted me £595 for a complete kitchen. Can’t say I agree with any of the negative comments which have been posted about the company as I had no problems what so ever.

Purchased a kitchen from Kitchen dreams a few months ago, ok it arrived a day late but it was perfectly understandable as the driver had broken down in the snow. I must admit I were a little worried when the driver rang to say he couldn’t make it, however the next day I got a call of the driver to say he would be at my house within the next hour and so he did. The kitchen arrived and it was exactly as I expected. Well, we were missing a couple of hinges but considering the price we paid for the kitchen I didn’t mind waiting for the hinges to be sent to us. The hinges arrived a week later. Personally I think if you’re after an incredibly cheap quality kitchen and don’t mind the odd hinge missing Kitchen Dreams is the perfect company to go to. £495 for a fitted kitchen with appliances ,I couldn’t be happier with my purchase.

I’m absolutely made up with my new kitchen. It’s exactly what I expected, far better than my previous kitchen I purchased from M.F.I which didn’t even last 2 years! I can honestly say the new kitchen definitely met the top end of my quality expectations and was in my budget. =]

 nicole_stewart at 10th Feb 2010, 12:28PM
really suprised about the quality of kitchen, held back 100 pounds because no hinges or handles but generally even though they wernt there i can get them from wickes, driver and girl in dispatch in this company were great, the customer service girls are complete tards!, and lie and use ridiculous arguments rather than just say we are sorry. however for the money a great kitchen and i am genuinely pleasantly suprised. so as long as you do not expect miracles they are great however i cannot stress enough give up if you reach customer service stage, with my hinges and handles they said that these are free with the kitchen so i should not have witheld payment, just like my tyres are free with my car but i would certainly not pay if they wernt on! to recap driver very helpful and girl in traffic office were excellent. i would actually recommend them, and i certainly do not work for the company.

 Binky at 8th Feb 2010, 01:21PM
Ok so the kitchen arrived from a company called Kitchen Dreams, and i was pretty suprised by the quality of it and it all seemed to be there with the exception of the handles and Hinges, so i witheld balance of 100 until they arrive.
which is about right if i wanted to replace the lot at my local wickes store 100 would do the job.
so all in all i paid 1500 for a huge kitchen
4 metres of wall units
6 metres of worktop
1.5 metres of breakfast bar (although they delivered about 5 metres of it, apprently if they cant be bothered to cut it you get the lot, so will be new table in my conservatory/utility room).
more storage than i could shake a stick at
also with that 1500 came
and oven and hob and extractor hood, all of which is of a good quality (untested)
so all in all i took a huge gamble with this lot because the amount of bad press these guy get online is vast!
but i was pleasantly suprised, and although i came out ok i dont know if i would recommend them because after speaking to their customer service, twice, they are morons, firstly, the driver and girl in despatch i spoke to, were absolutely terrific and if my impression of the company were based on these guys i would be putting up flyers myself.
but the customer service is so used to lieing to people before the kitchen was delivered i was being lied to.
My first call and example of creative argument was to ask if i could hve a check list sent over before the thing arrived, i was told the driver has one and i asked can i check everything, abruptly i was told the driver does not have time to check anything and if you open it you have bought it and it cannot be resold.
this bit got my back up a bit 'if i open it i cannot send it back?' i did try and explain to the girl if i open it and its broken or not what i ordered its coming straight back to you, sorry we would not take it, i ended the conversation there and called their despatch department, who told me dont worry the driver 'will' check everything with you and make sure you are happy. (despatch ftw)
ok so the thing arrives without handles and hinges which i knew i could replace pretty easily so all in all compared to the dread fear i had about anything resembling a kitchen not appearing it was ok.
so i call customer service (admitedly they pick up the first time i call, compared to the 7th or 8th last time i tried previously) and i expain hi there got a kitchen yadda yadda driver said blah blah the handles would be by sometime this week. customer service girl i will just go and get your file, 5 - 6 minutes pass on hold and she comes back, you have withheld some of the balance, my reply was yes enough to purchase them from somewhere else if they dont arrive, so now they will take upto twenty working days to get to me.
so no probs i have the cash i lay it on the line in all honesty so i say is it worth me forgetting about you guys and getting them from Wickes? to save me the heart ache, she is not happy about the outstanding cash balance and i say look no handles or hinges is an incomplete order so you guys got an incomplete payment, and its cash in hand so i am not going to mess about i have no come back if they have my cash, she then argues (i loved this part) that the hinges and handles are free with the kitchen so i should have paid in full, this totally threw me and i was lost for words its like saying heres your car after the service, oh its go no tyres they are free you will have to wait for those in the mean time please pay up, as i cannot actually use my doors to my kitchen cabinets. after she said this i am now resigned to the fact i will not speak to them again and i will repurchase the handles and hinges from wickes.
so all in all the sum up
for the money i have a great kitchen!
for the discount price you get solid old mfi stuff
for the discount you get prats in customer service, training and a brain cell would do these guys more favors
be happy when it arrives you will have to work out what you are missing and get creative!

My husband placed and order with Kitchen Dreams, we were both looking forward to receiving the kitchen until I read some adverse comments about the company on the internet. At this point we were having second thoughts about purchasing the kitchen from this company. However, we still went ahead with the order hoping the kitchen would arrive as planned. I'm delighted to say the kitchen arrived in perfect condition, it has been fitted and the quality is outstanding. My husband and I are pleased we went ahead with the order and are looking into purchasing a bathroom from Kitchen Dreams. Goes to show, not everything you read on the internet and newspapers is true.

 marie.hughes at 4th Feb 2010, 12:50PM
Service and kitchen were both spot on. I had delivered exactly what I had ordered apart from one of the worktops. I contacted the company and they informed me they did not have the worktop in stock until the following week. The worktop arrived a week later and the kitchen looks fabulous. No complaints from me. Thanks Kitchen Dreams 

My sister purchased a kitchen from Kitchen Dreams and had no problems what so ever. The kitchen turned up on time and all the items were there, the quality is brilliant and the kitchen looks perfect. As the service was so outstanding I’ve decided to also place an order with Kitchen Dreams and look forward to receiving my kitchen.

Took 3 days holiday from work. 1 for delivery and 2 for fitting. Kitchen delivered and now sitting in my lounge awaiting fitting.
Fitter hasn't turned up, so called kitchens direct - what a nightmare - very, very rude staff indeed. Had my Three thousand 100 pounds and now not bothered! Got the number for Dean the kitchen fitter...he knew nothing, and said he had no paperwork sent through. Said he would organise fitters to come to my house tomorrow to do the job, guaranteed completion in 1 day!!!. We'll see. Bad experience so far...will update you tomorrow.

I recommend this company to anyone who is looking for cheap quality kitchens. I purchased 4 kitchens from this company in the past year! All of which are in immaculate condition. I didn’t really have a very high budget so could only afford the cheaper kitchens; the quality of them though is brilliant! I did have the odd item or two missing however they were couriered out to me the following week. I couldn’t be happier with the kitchens and will definitely consider using this company again.

 jasmine2010 at 26th Jan 2010, 07:42AM
I have used them as Rock Solid kitchens. Absolutely dreadful company. I cannot believe the authorities let the owner re-invent the same company at least three times. All have been slated by Trading STandards. Seems Trading standards are not up to the job of protecting us consumers.

 bondie16 at 22nd Jan 2010, 09:56AM
I've bought kitchens here for many years and sold them on at a nice profit! Fantastic quality and brilliant prices. I collect everything myself and have never encountered any problems, beyond the occasional out of stock item or two. The company was cleared in court of any wrong doing recently and found to actually have a better complaints ratio than most in the country!Fax the boss direct on 01706 821991 with your complaint, I've met the fella and I know he will sort them out!

 RJames at 21st Jan 2010, 09:30AM
please do not under any cicumstances deal with this company. we too have joined the many "ripped off" customers. you can,t pay by credit card, so you have no come backs once you pay. the company are amazingly helpful and polite until they have your hard earned cash then sadly it,s all seriously downhill from then on. there are various websites featuring this company which unsurprisingly has existed under various guises.
you will also notice one or two positive comments featured here and on other websites. one of this company,s ploys is to use employees to pose as satisfied customers in an attempt to verify this company,s integrity. if there are any genuine satisfied customers i suspect they will be rather thin on the ground.
generally speaking what you are purchasing is poor in quality. common complaints are, missing or damaged units and parts, ignorant and arrogant staff although a few appear to be polite but i suspect they are merely attempting to pacify irate customers. this company is well known to trading standards, sadly not so well known it would seem to the general public. hopefully we will be able to rectify most of our problems thanks to our fitter who also happens to be a joiner and a good friend.
sadly once again, the old phrase "if it sounds too good to be true it usually is" fits like a proverbial glove. i only hope more people like myself and others who have taken the time and effort to comment on this company come forward and that finally this company is closed for good. i particularily feel empathy for those on low incomes or pensioners who have been taken in by kitchen dreams or perhaps more appropiately " kitchen nightmares"

thank you for taking the time to read this, and if nothing else i hope this warning saves you from going through the stress my wife and i under went. take care out there.

WHAT A NIGHTMARE! Bear in mind these people operate under numerous names such as Kitchens Direct, Direct Kitchens and all sorts of combinations of KD!
Ordered Sept with late Nov del'y request. I postponed a week cos electrician hadn't finished. HALF the stuff was missing when it arrived and the fitting office knew nothing about having to do the job! Fitters came twice and still couldn't finish as parts still missing. GOOD FITTERS tho! Based @ Stoke called KITCHENS. Whole cabinets were and still are missing @ mid Jan '10. Those supplied were made of part units, evidenced by drill holes in the bases.
A complete MESS of a business!!!!!!

 robalbury at 12th Jan 2010, 07:33AM
I have also involved trading standards and im still not having any luck with sorting this matter out either. I currently have a extremely hazardous moudly kitchen in my home which my young son crawls passed everyday... believe me I wish I could close them down if my son catches anything from this kitchen I will personally go down and rip their heads off.

My parents are another dissatisfied customer of Kitchen Dreams, although unlike most who have left comments on this site my parents pocket have been hit by £200. After a Google search which revealed that Kitchen Dreams have received (and continue to do so) a large number of complaints they cancelled their order and tried (still trying) to get their deposit back, which according to their sales rep/estimator was refundable. I add, their representative did not leave his number.

After a series of letters and speaking to a number of ill mannered people at Kitchen Dreams who think the best method to handle this situation is to slam the phone down, my parents involved Trading Standards. I am, however, sad to say that there involvement has been less than enthusiastic. They appear to have little clout against this company. We are now going higher up the food chain.

We have also informed our local newspaper where we obtained the number. They are refusing to remove their ads until Trading Standards inform them otherwise. A national paper is also advertising Kitchen Dreams.

I think it is disgusting that a company is allowed to get away with want can only be described as unethical behaviour. It certainly doesn't pay to be honest.

 redfiesta23 at 3rd Jan 2010, 02:47PM
why does this company keep getting away with poor service, i have contacted my local trading standards and they say that they will look into their practices but i urge all people to leave a comment here about them; i lost over three thousand pounds wich to some may not mean a lot but to me was a big sum when all i wanted was the kitchen i signed up to but there reps just constantly assured me that i would get the deal they gave me but i ended up with a sub standard set of hardware that i could have got for less with another co

 chrisf at 18th Dec 2009, 09:26PM
it has been weeks now and I still haven't been offered any recompense by these people for their misleading brochures, no apology, no refund, nothing!!!

 factory4 at 10th Dec 2009, 07:44AM
I have reported this company t6o my local trading standards who have assured me that mine is not the only complaint they have received so I look forward to something being done about this co.

 mcnally at 9th Dec 2009, 01:01PM
Looking at all the complaints i can see why they have a bad name, however.. As an ex rep of theirs i sold a lot of kitchens and had a lot of positive feedback from customers, i always left my number in case of problems or questions. Most of the time it was silly things like legs broken, plastic legs..... You can wait 4 weeks for replacements or go to b&q and spend a whopping 5 pound to replace them, or if you are clever, take them off of your old units. Before you cancel your order think. Have a look around, check Magnet, B&Q, Howdens, Pogen Pohl, Vogue, Mega Multiskova and all the others. Everyone has complaints. Its only the upset ones that complain. Happy ones have no reason to do further research into the company so they dont stumble upon this site.

 kebonk at 9th Dec 2009, 12:59AM
my mum also had a kitchen in september.we got no sink or draws or handles and my mum over paid them.she is still waiting for money haha.they said did you write yes we did no reply.i think they forgot how to reply.any problems anyone has go consumer or watchdog.we have.they owe us compo and money they robbed.its theft if they dont pay money back they owe.when you phone to speak to a manager she is never there.costing us in phone calls too.when they deliver stuff they throw it in dont even give us chance to check items.dont go with them or use them.
