I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING EVERYONE HERE IS SAYING. However, I have a problem with the way owners are dealing with this company. When the property is purchased a person signs an agreement with this company. I have made all the payments on time for the decorating of my block. Since I have made payments (last in Dec âÂ?Â?04) no work has been done. When I rung Johnson Cooper today I was told that the works would start if everyone had paid up. Lady called Claire at Johnson Cooper has told me that out of 21 flats only 12 have actually paid up for the decorating provisions. That is why the works cannot start. I am hoping that they are being honest!! Not paying is not a solution to the problem. The only way to deal with this situation is if the owners get together and ALL agree in writing to dismiss JC from providing the services. We'd need to set up a LTD Company and then manage the building by ourselves. Trouble is, that I cannot get in touch with the owners of the flats as most of them have been let. So if youâÂ?Â?re one of the owners of 59-79 Porter Close, Grays flats please contact me on 07970240543. Please be aware that you will not be able to sell your property until you have paid the outstanding amount to your management company. They can also charge you interest and cost for sending you reminders etc. Read the small print in your contracts. I personally would be prepared to take on responsibility of organising everything for the management, but I need you guys to get in touch with me!!!
This company is operating under a different name, Johnson Cooper, I have been waiting for the leaks to be sorted, cracks in my walls to be fixed and the subsidence to be dealt with, I have waited for nearly a year (August 04- May 05) and alas no joy!
This company are quick to take vast sums of your money, slow to deal with the serious problems that matter and fast to deal with petty issues like correct curtains up at windows?!
What is going on? How long do we have to be fleeced of our money before we get the service we require?
Now taken over by Johnson Cooper Ltd who seem to be as much use as Equity. Have had a leak for 3 years, bathroom re-decorated 3 times and paid for by Equity. Each time I was assured the cause of the problem had been rectified. Ceiling collapsed August 2004, still waiting for cause of leak to be established by Johnson Cooper. Can't sell property due to damp. Absolute nightmare. No end in sight.
For the last year, myself and two colleagues have been running a forum allowing customers of Equity Asset Management and their sister companies Pier Managament and Regis Group (all based in Southend-on-Sea). Last week, solicitors acting on behalf of Mount Street Holdings (Equity's parent company), threatened legal action against our ISP simply.com unless all 800 messages going back one year, were removed immediately. The message removal included 61 messages posted by their Chief Executive, Andy Zahn, over the last year.
Messages posted by innocent forum members, members unable to get their property problems resolved directly with Equity, and advice on how to move property management away from Equity's control. The forum members no longer have a voice.
Neither Equity, MSH or Mr Zahn have contacted us regarding this matter.
