Today I tried to contact Summer Bay Resorts, in order to sent them the following letter (excuse me if my English is a bit shaky, I'm dutch.)
Dear Madam, Sir,
Today I did find on the internet the happy announcement that I am the winner of a $3000 prize. I telephoned the number on your Summer Bay Resorts site an this is what happened:
First I was truly amazed by the fact that I had won a trip to Orlando all included, to Mexico and a four days cruise to the Bahama's as well.Secondly I did not seem to have a prize at all, but I had to pay you 570 euro's immediatly, this instant, in order to get...? To get what? A more than insisting male employee of Summer Bay Resorts ordered me to get my mastercard NOW and to give him the number. His behaviour annoyed me terribly. It did not match the idea of having won a prize at all. It felt more like I owe you.
So it ends up like this: I really doubt the honesty ofyour firm. If somebody is as lucky as to win a prize, the winner should FIRST get his prize and one should really not let the winner pay for his prize. Shame on you. I will inform the legal consumer-institutions in The Netherlands about your actions.

i got an email saying id won a holiday in wales and that i had to phone an 0800 number in 3 minutes, so i did. i spoke to a woman who said that i had won the grand prize of summet like 4 luxury holidays to certain places, she took me through the details and at the end she told me all i had to pay was £498.my flights or meals etc weren't free? (I THOUGHT IT WAS FREE THATS WHAT IT SAID IN MY EMAIL ?)then she asked me for my bank details so i could pay the £498 so i told her that i didnt have any savings and i said but the holidays supposed to be free ? so she passed me over to a guy as he was talking my credit run out on my phone so i phoned back and was speaking to the manager who asked me how i was going to pay and said that i should ask a friend or someone that could help me out and i said if could i ring you back and he said no straight away in a grumpy voice so i said i might aswell leave it then and he put the phone down on me. WHATS THE POINT IN EMAILING PEOPLE AND SAYING THAT THEY HAVE WON A FABULOUS HOLIDAY FOR FREE GETTING THEM TO PHONE YOU TAKING THEM ALL THROUGH THE DETAILS AND THEN AT THE END SAYING WE NEED TO PAY £500 POUND OR MORE WITH ARE BANK CARDS AND BASICALLY WE HAVE TO PAY FOR OUR OWN FLIGHTS, FOOD ETC YOU SAID ITS FREE SO IT SHOULD BE AS FAR AS I AM CONCERED I WONT BOOK THROUGH THEM AT ALL SORRY BUT YOU DONT TELL PEOPLE ITS FREE WHEN IT ISNT.

hello I work for Summer Bay resorts. I read all the negatives about this company I work for now I would like to clear it up.. All of you have no idea what or who you were dealing with sure the people say Summer Bay resorts but there are several Summer Bay resorts, not all are the same or aquainted with the other.. I work from Orlando not Longwood or Vegas or Cancun ,Orlando .. I was working and someone called in with their number and I took it and then as I went through the walk with this person he said I am sorry but Im not going to buy anything all because of of this mess started here..My company deals strictly with BBB and has a 100% guarantee of doing what they say and have done so .. This other company I heard about is not with us.They borrowed our name to make Our company look bad,but I cannot be positive about this..In my walk through I tell the buyer they donot have to accept and can decline after everything is explained I will NOT ever take money and not give what I say..But one of these other companies are out to destroy a great company by lying and hurting people. I will look deeper into this and get back..And number two there is never a rental car given but if you need one, one is set up for you to use at a cheap rate as well as air fare..and number 3, 2100 dollars are never used for any reason with our company, this is how I know someone else is dealing with people using our name.. It's a shame I just started working there and yet I may have to look elsewhere because of getting bad reputations. We are under the BBB and if we were hurting people or cheating them then we would of been out of a few hundred jobs..I will find out more about who is slandering our name and using people I can promise everyone here, it is not us..I am very sorry everyone got hurt by a false company and I wish everyone luck in getting what is yours..I will be back with more when I find out more,I promise...lil

i got an email saying id won 5 days 4 nights in spain so i clicked on the link and it gave me an 0800 number to call to claim, so i did as it was free, a guy then told me that i had to buy a holiday to america, 6 days 5 nights in orlando, 4 days 3 nights daytona beach and a bahamas cruise 3 days 2 nights and id recieve the holiday to spain, the price for this was £249.00 after recieving a £1200 travel voucher, but there was an extra charge pushing it up to £450ish and i had to pay for it now, but could take the holiday anytime in the next 18 months. i said i didnt have the money to pay for it now, could i call my mum and then call back in about an hour, i was then put on hold for a second and the guys manager came on 'to answer questions', he then stayed on the phone while i spoke to my mum and she said that she couldnt make such a quick decision, during the convo the manager heard me, and said that we could take it anytime in the next 3 yrs instead 18 months and he knocked off the extra charge so i got all that for the £249, i said i was still interested but had to call my bank to see how much i had in my account.. as bad luck would have it i only had £228 which i told him, desperate to keep my business he lowered the price of this fantastic holiday to only £189 and he also upped the time limit in which i could take the holiday to any time in the next 5 years... after all these extra discounts i decided it was way too good to be true and declined their offer, i wonder what i couldve gotten them down to...

Hi,

I also bought the package deal from SummerBay resort. Their customer service is atrocious. I made a reservation and they confirmed it. Meanwhile I made my reservation for airline and rental car. Next day they tell me that the date which i reqested for is not available.

So I made another reservation for another place for which i got the confirmation that it was available. After more than 40 days I get a call from another company called World Wide Travel thru which the booking was made by Summer Bay and they took all my information again and confirmed that the hotel is available. Next day they call me and tell me that there is no vacany. Summer Bay says they can't do anything as usual.

I had tried to cancel my membership after the first incident, but they had refused. One person had mentioned that Summer Bay is very good, if you stay there. Well the problem is if you cannot even get a reservation and get a poor customer service, how will you stay with them?

Many things that i learnt later was a children charge, resort does not mean a resort (it could be a hotel like Holiday Inn), there is no guarantee of a reservation even if they confirm, advance refundable deposits etc.

It is now almost 3 months since I bought the package. Is there way by which I can still get a refund? I have not yet used any of their service and I am totally dis-satisfied with the company. Any help would be appreciated.

ok, i was listening to a spanish radio station when i heard a promo for a trip all you had to do was call 888-737-7754 and give them the correct answer...so i called and right away some latino person answered and said you are the winner for the trip to florida, disney world and so on. He went on to explain the details of the whole thing, i was skeptical, but i kept listening, and i told him is this a fraud? he said no, and then asked me Do you think that this popular radio station would take a risk of advertising a company that is fraudulent? well i don't think they would but still, he wanted my credit or debit information so that they could charge 241.99 for "administrative charges and taxes" that all i would just have to pay that amount and then i had 24 months to use the vacs... i said no thank you and then he said well you could have said no since the beginning and not made me waste my time, i apologized for doing so and hung up...now i am looking up the info he gave me and nothing is like what he said... please people do not fallfor this frauds they are too good to be true!!!!!!!

I am sick and tired of Summer Bay Resorts or what shows up on caller ID as PREFERRED GUEST of calling my home telephone number and when my husband or I answer the telephone, they hang up without saying anything. I am going to report this as harassment to the telephone company and the the Attorney General Office in the State of Texas.

Please stop this harassment!

Yes, I noticed the Queensland Office of Fair Trading had a press release in relation to these folk. I'm wondering if there's a connection between Summer Bay Resorts and Celebration World Resort. Similar offers, so I'm thinking they are similar rip-off tactics. The address for the OFT press release is at http://www.fairtrading.qld.gov.au/oft/oftweb.nsf/Web Pages/ED920F47CD1511884A2571540000E393?OpenDocument

All the best with everyone getting their refunds. : )

I live in Australia and received and automated voice call to my home phone telling me I had been randomly selected to win an amazing overseas holiday. My inquisitive nature persuaded me to call the number whereupon a latino sounding woman named Anna (obviously reading from a script) started giving all the details of this amazing deal to me, such as a week in Orlando Florida, right on the beach with tickets to disney world and all access passes, then on to daytona beach for 3 nights, then Mexico for a further 3 nights, then 7 nights on the worlds most luxurious casino cruise ship. All this for 4 people at the discounted price of US$698.00. Taking advantage of this special 1 day offer meant I was eligible for a second 5 night getaway to mexico anytime in the next 12 months. Obviously, this was starting to sound like BS to me.

I told the lady I would not give my credit card details out over the phone to anyone who could just call me up and ramble off a well written speech, god, I am not stupid. She put me on hold and a few seconds later a well spoken american man answered the phone. I asked him what the catch was, he wouldnt give me a straight answer and just kept talking about what a great deal this was and how could I afford not to miss out? I persisted, and asked 'whats the catch?' He finally said that every year they like to get as many people down to florida as they can so they go back and tell their friends all these wonderful things about them. I said 'Ok'. I asked for confirmation by email of what I was going to purchase prior to purchasing, he explained they couldnt send anything until I had made the purchase as the description was part of the receipt, but that he would email it straight out and I would be able to see it immediately! Well, thats a comfort.. yeah right. What use is that if I have already parted with my money and it turns out to be bogus? He assured me it was not bogus and to prove it, everything we were discussing was being tape recorded and a copy would be sent to me and to my bank, and they would have an attorney check over it to make sure everything was legit. The conversation now had started to seem a little ridiculous. I explained that I still was not going to give him any card details at which point he became quite angry and abusive, I apologised for wasting his time and hung up the phone. QUITE CLEARLY BOGUS PEOPLE, THEY WILL DO EVERYTHING THEY CAN TO ASSURE YOU OF THEIR LEGITIMACY AND GOOD INTENTIONS, DO NOT BE FOOLED. I checked and the Australian Federal Police are aware of these guys.

the other day while browsing on-line i recieved a pop up from the company summerbay resorts.. it stated that i had one a $2100 discount on a vacation package 5 days & 4 nights in orlando , 7 day economy car rental ,4 days & 3 nights in daytona A cruise to the bahamas ( 4 days & 3 nights) then they added a bonus destination to cancun.. 5 days & 4 nights they say that transportation to florida is not included but that there is cruise option availaible for a $159 plus port & registration fees to the bahamas. ( does this mean that when i go to cancun and the bahamas i have to pay to get there???? )i'm concerned about this because they said i had to pay was the remaining balance of the 2100 discount which was 498. i've paid half so far and i'm concerned that it was a mistake because this all sounds to good to be true... if anyone has experienced this can u please help me... i'm concerned but a bit excited at the same time... please get back to me asap

I booked a vacation with them and they did not deliver on their promise. Attempts to reconcile the differences have been futile yet they have charged me for services not provided.
Advise: Patronize them at you own risk.

I understand that people come to this website looking for the truth behind companies and opportunities that are offered to them. After carefully reviewing ALL of the posts against Summber Bay Resort that are posted on this site, one thing strikes me as odd:

The people that have actually travelled on their holidays have all been completely satisfied, if not, totally impressed with the quality and calibre of accommodation that they experienced when on their holiday.

The people that have posted complaints, haven't even travelled on the holiday at all!

How can you judge a holiday resort without stepping foot on the property? Exactly, you can't! I have travelled to Summer Bay Resort on multiple occasions, and have been more that over-joyed each time. The property is beautiful, and the staff is delightful.

Before you find credibility in any of the posts on this and any other site, consider who it is that is providing these posts. Ask yourself the question: If they have never experienced what was offered to them, then how can they have any opinion to post?

Trust is a very important part in any decision-making process. Who do you trust more? Your judgement? Or the judgement of the inexperienced masses? Personally, I trust my own judgement. It has safely guided me through the first 38 years of my life, and I can only assume that it will continue to until the end of my days.

One thing that I am 100% sure of is that when I travel to Orlando, I will stay at the Summer Bay EVERY TIME. Once you stay there, you will too!

ENJOY YOUR TRAVELS! LIFE IS TOO SHORT TO TAKE SOMEONE'S WORD FOR IT. GET OUT AND EXPERIENCE IT FOR YOURSELF, AND THEN ADD YOUR OWN POST HERE.

CHEERS!

I can tell you folks out there that Summer Bay Resort has nothing to do with your MARKETING PROBLEMS,it your responsibility as a consumer to know who your giving your credit card and personel info too over the phone or via internet.

I am a VERY HAPPY owner of this resort since 1996 and have used RCI to travel to several locations around the world.I only unhappy customer's are the one's that DO NOT own and who are staying at those CHEAP hotels.

I just returned from a wonderfuly delightful trip with Summer Bay Resort. Everything from our hotel room to the weather was delightful. We were given VIP access to thier private gated vacation home community. They boasted 6 wonderful pools, two large lakes with white sandy fresh water beaches complete with water sports, boating, etc. They have a kids water playground, miniture golf and a great Kid's Activity center.

Imagine my surprise when I returned home to tell a friend of mine what a great time we had and suggested they look into Summer Bay. My friend looked up Summer Bay on Blagger and whoooaa... I can't beleive what I am reading. This is like two different companies or something.... Is everyone talking about the same Resort I traveled through? They are located just past Disney Wrld on Florida State Rd. 192...I am not sure if it is in Clermont or Kissimmee. I would hate to think that the resort I traveled through was being confused for something else. They were very friendly people and a complete delight!

Please let me know...

Some people on the site have said that their cc companies have been helpful in trying to resolve this. Can anyone advise me on whether their cc company has been able to successfully retrieve their money for this holiday?

 rcranmer at 18th Jan 2005, 07:29PM
I received their popup just after connecting on my new computer to the Internet for the first time. In all the excitement, I went ahead and called. It was late; after the saleswoman went through her pitch and said I had to decide RIGHT THEN, I asked her to wait while I consulted with my husband, then returned to the phone to find she had hung up for the night. I called back in the morning to express interest in the offer ($598 for 3 nights in Orlando, 3 nights on a Bahama Cruise, and 2 nights in St Petersburg). Sounded pretty good... The salesperson agreed to go ahead with the purchase, which kind of surprised me after the woman the night before indicated that we HAD to buy the vacation THEN, or the deal was off. To make a long story short, I proceeded to make my reservation, was charged an additional $796 for port fees, etc, then got even more concerned when I printed out my promotion letter. There were multiple discrepancies between the terms in the letter and what I had been told (i.e. I was told I had 2 years to take the trip vs. 18 months in the letter, I was told I "won" a Cancun vacation, too, but the letter made no mention of that, etc, etc.) Things started to feel really fishy and uncomfortable, especially when I called them back and couldn't get a straight answer. Then I found this website and read all the remarks, got even more concerned, and felt that my gut instinct was probably right. It almost sounded like two different companies, as some people had such horror stories, and others described their experience like being in paradise. Very weird...makes you wonder, doesn't it? When I called today to cancel, I wasn't left on hold forever or given a hard time(to my surprise, as I had been worrying the whole weekend about being in for an arguement), although I had to call two separate numbers to get both charges reversed. For good measure I also called my credit card company. Maybe I was spared the hassle that so many others had because I cancelled within 7 days - the confirmation letter states that I had the full right to cancel my order at no penalty within 7 days from the initiation of the phone order. I want to say THANK YOU to all those who wrote in earlier and alerted me to their tremendous problems with Summer Bay Resorts. You have spared me (I hope...)getting caught up any further than I did in a huge mess. When I see the charges reversed on my statement I'll really breathe easier! And FYI, be sure you get a cancellation number (this was advised by my credit card company, as Summer Bay didn't initially give my one and I had to call them back again for the information). Perhaps it would have been a fine vacation, but I'd rather never know than take a chance with all that money, which I can now use on what I KNOW will be a good vacation.

Now doing business as Eastern Pacific Holding, LLC
587 East SR 434
Longwood, Florida 32750

telephone # 1.407.262.5660

principals ARIF RAJAN and ATLAF HEMANI

Selling SummerBayResort packages 9 day/8 night packages to Americans for $598.00 and also selling Celebration World Resort 10 day/9nights to mainly the United Kingdom for 598.00 pounds. That's double the price for an extra night.

This is the only way to get your money back. Got to the following address...

www.800helpfla.com/ccform.html

...and select the 'File a Complaint'. option at the top of the page. Tell them you have been denied a refund as allowed under Florida Law (30 day cooling off period) and they will do the rest. They will probably mail you a form to complete and sign - do this and answer as much as you can. Post it back and you will have your refund within 30 days.

I booked a holiday with these people and have regretted it ever since....I cancelled the vacation two days after booking as I had been told I was eligible for a full refund if cancelling within seven days. I cancelled on 22 September and still haven't received it. I've phoned at least ten times and faxed documentation across twice to show that the money is still outstanding on my credit card, as they are saying their records show I've been paid. I asked them for a receipt or email confirming that I am due a refund and they told me it was company policy not to email customers. I asked why this was and whether I could discuss it with a manager and they put me on hold for ages and then transferred me to someone else where the whole conversation started again. I was then asked to call back on 3 December which I will do as apparently a manager will be taking a look at my case but I don't believe I will ever get my money back. I wish I'd never heard of these people as the money I've lost is nearly a months salary. Has anybody else dealt with this company successfully? I think I haven't got a chance as they haven't provided anything in writing saying I'm due a refund - all I have as evidence I ever bought the holiday is a voice message on my phone saying the refund is being dealt with and a big credit card bill.
