OH how i wish we had read this site before we did business with these jokers.
I would be here all night if i detailed the problems with this companies product and total lack of customer service.
basically we suffered firstly a total lack of installation information, incorrect cupboard design, absolutley no customer support despite being promised that we had a project manager to contact at Manchester. He just didn't exist.
They never once rang back as promised, we had to constantly harass them until we eventually found a solution to the cupboard design problem which took about 2 months to resolve. Even then we have had to accept a poor design solution, but being so fed up we have accepted it.
If this stops one person from doing business with these jokers it will have been worth the effort of writing this review.

On not use this company. Kitchens Direct are a joke - the worst service I have ever had - the whole thing has been a disaster - almost said from start to finish unfortunately the job still isn't finished. Use anyone but these cowboys - do yourselves a favour. I read unfavourable reviews and thought - 'Oh mine will be ok" - how wrong could I be. Avoid!

This is the worst company ever! It would be too much to list all the problems we experienced, here are the highlights:
- You don;t get what you agree with the salesman, the surveyor can change things but it would be nice if he'd mention this!(e.g. we ended up with a different size worktop).
- The work is extremely poor quality (e.g. no electricity when they finished work; a leak in the newly fitted water pipes a few days later).
- Customer services is appalling and unavailable. They do not show up for appointments (e.g. leaking water pipes), and claims are not answered.

We have had (and are still having) a very bad experience with Kitchens Direct. Suposed to get fitted completely in 2 days - now 7 weeks on and still not complete. Rude and very unheplful 'project manager' (in name only)at the Manchester 'customer care' do i need to say in name only again.... Patronising, rude, dont know how to treat the customer, false promises, told letters sent out when date on letter when one finally arives clearly states that it was not, told parts would come in within a certain time and weeks on still having to make calls to chase up. No communication from their end unless chased, and then given grudgingly as though you are a complete hassle to them when all you want is your kitchen finished. Items returned to them 6 weeks ago and still chasing for the refund. Fitter made numerous careless errors totally unapologetic throughout, broke the hob when returned to fix one of his careless mistakes. The list goes on and on and the frustration and stress it has caused has been a real strain. Can only say dont ever go near this company - EVER.

I ordered my kitchen in September last year. The surveyor came soon afterwards and immediately spotted problems with the design so I should have known the company would be trouble.
My installation date was w/c 4th December 2005, I was assured that fitting of a kitchen of my size would take 3 days. The fitters were late on the first day, apparently they had another job to finish. I had to work that week so I left the fitters to it but now wish I had watched over their every move. The issues I had were that the designed had not taken into account the oven handles on my pull out corner cupboard so I could not open that, the wall cupboards were not fitted level, the end pieces were not cut straight and just covered up with sealant, they had not left enough room for my dishwasher despite there being enough shown on the plans, the cooker hood was fitted too low and I kept banging my head when I opened the top corner cabinet, the inside of my cupboards is not the same as the doors (I was not informed of this fact by the designer), the cornice also does not match in colour, my drawer pack does not match in design, I was supplied with a faulty worksurface which cannot be corrected unless they replace all of it, the overflow to my boiler was fitted incorrectly so it ran down the walls on the outside of my house, rubbish was left all over my patio for 3 weeks over the Christmas period, they have ruined my carpet and chipped my back door frame.
They have offered me £200 compensation for repair to my carpet and door which is going to cost £1,300 to replace. They have offered me nothing for the delay, they took 4 months to get the fitting right and the original fitters could not even do a simple thing like connect the sink overflow up correctly.
This company should not be touched with a barge pole! Their customer services are appaling and it took a letter to the Managing Director before my constant letters and phone calls were answered.
I am currently using a concilliation agency but KD to not really seem to be cooperating and an offer of compensation is not forth comming. I therefore have my lawyers lined up and will be issuing court proceedings by the end of the month.
Please tell all of your friends not to use KD because their kitchens are extremely poor quality and do not match and the fitters are not capable of fitting a shelf, let alone a kitchen!

Almost got suckered into one of these kitchens.
Wife and I went through the brochure, found a nice-looking kitchen, and signed up for the deal, £6500 including installation. Bear in mind that this was with 50% off! (According to the salesman...).
Was assured by the salesman that we would pay 10% up front, and then the balance four months after the expected delivery date. This reassured me somewhat that we could withhold in the event of an incomplete/bodged job.
Salesman was insistent that we sign the balance (90%) up as a credit contract over two years, but if we paid the credit contract in full at the four-month mark then there would be no interest.
Paid the 10% deposit up front by Switch, and signed the credit contract, still thinking that we had four months after the expected delivery date to ensure the kitchen was installed correctly.
Re-read the contract thoroughly without the sales pressure, and realised that:
There were, in effect, three contracts - one between me and Kitchens Direct for them to supply the kitchen, one between me and the finance company for 90% of the value of the kitchen, and one between the finance co and Kitchens Direct whereby they get the 90% amount paid immediately to them by the finance co.
What this meant in effect was that if Kitchens Direct did a bodge job, I was unable to withhold any part of the payment because KD had already been paid IN FULL by the credit co - any outstanding balance would be between me and the credit co, and to withhold payment would affect my finance credit rating.
Needless to say, this was NOT what I was told by the sales droid.
Luckily, the contract was signed in my own home and I was within 7 days, so managed to cancel the contract under the Credit Contract Act and received full refund.
I took the option of cancelling after sussing out (through various boards) that KD kitchens are overpriced and shoddy. Can't comment on their kitchen quality, but their pressure sales and dodgy finance options lead me to believe that they are a questionable outfit.

Had to pay for kitchen in full when delivered. Could not hold anything back. Kitchen was not fitted until 1 month later (3rd week of june), good job apart from two problems. We are still waiting now 21/09 for remedials to be completed and have been fobbed off to date. Are now going to trading standards and legal.
