as it happens i was with my travel and was entitled to a rep who wasnt there, i dont need you to clear things up for me, and please stop following my comments on companies
expedia are a travel agent, not a specific tour operator. you only get a rep with a package holiday booked through a tour operator. eg first choice, my travel, thomson, etc.
the chances are, you didn't book a package holiday.
Booked a hotel with expedia, based on the site, I expected a four star hotel with pool and gym. On this occassion there were several in the same prize bracket for this. I got there and found that it was an ibis, not aware of their standards in general. Of course these are not four star and have no swimming pool, so misleading advert. This also caused a lot of hassel as i had to move to another hotel. On complaint they tried to offer a £50 expedia voucher. Then after speaking to a consumer rights line they offered full refund and compensation for the misleading advert. This was promised a month ago, it has still not been recieved, they promised up to 10 working days. I have sent three e-mails, all ignored and phoned thier hotline. I was promised a call by this friday from staff. I am now on the phone, wasting my bill for a total 40 mins plus in total. What a disgrace, customer service is very poor!
we booked our vacation with expedia, cruise, hotels and cars. we received for every booking a confirmation with the total costs. during the vacation the total costs were much higher than expedia promoted and were exceeded by $ 650! during serveral phonecalls with expedia they denied everything and were not willing to give an explanation. they even gave me a wrong address when I wanted to file a complaint to the headoffice. Even after finding out the right address, they did not answer any letters. I feel very much mislead by Expedia with the information provided. I am very unsatisfied and dissapointed with the way Expedia has been dealing with my complaint during the telephone calls I made and letters I wrote. expedia is unreliable and there customerservice is below standard. this was the first and also the last time I booked my vacation with expedia. I advise every one who wants to booked through expedia to think twice and save a lot of money which you spent for an other vacation.
Tooth removal without painkillers would be less painful than dealing with this group. They badly botched travel to Ireland for us and weren't going to do a thing about it, until I contacted the parent company. One shouldn't have to go to the top & threaten to have a wrong made right.
Used Expedia once for a 5 night break to New York in December 2003. Really easy to book and had no problems whatsoever. Plus, got a brilliant deal so would definitely use again.
