I have helped a number of their clients with REAL advice, and almost all of them have tried to sue, but found it a waste of time.
All you will get is a judgement. Not your money back.
The directors (unless you have some form of Gurantee) will not cover your loss (they are under no legal obligation to do so)
My only suggestion would be to use a company who has been around for a while, (like ours!), rather than another Pheonix company using "black hat" seo techniques
Yet again GNS MNarkleting sold us down the river too. Their friendly staff Carol - who we would love to get hold of, sold us a optimisation service for £881.25 and we got nothing not even completed work done. The last contact we had with them was 7th October 2005 and then they stopped replying to us and since then we have had no joy and been totally ripped off by this so called company. I would like to meet with the directors and tell me personally that court papers on their way to them as we speak. NEVER use this company.

I am very dissatisfied with the service I received from GNS. As a recent graduate who had just started up my own business (in computer components sales), the £1500 I paid to them was a major investment.
What happened:
Paid for 500 keyword-rich pages (prices were lower then than they are now). Received a completely useless list of search terms (like others have pointed out). Gave them 200 keyphrases I came up with myself to start off with.
They then made the 200 pages, however they did this by altering a copy of my home page on which there were lots of specification details and prices for computer systems. Anyone with half a brain would have realised that these will be out of date within a month. So, I'm left with these pages that people are landing on that are completely irrelevant and out of date, making my site look very unprofessional. I had to pay them £500 to fix it.
Doing these changes made my site drop out of the google pages completely, and it never got back. complete waste of money. found the staff to be poor communicators (my contactdidnt sound like he had a 3 figure IQ and I found it impossible to convey my complaints to him without endless irrelevant questions / sidesteps).
The additional £500 i should not have paid, but did reluctantly in the hope something would come of it and with extra promises of success from GNS. Hoever I remember the guy getting very aggressive when he thought I wasnt going to pay.
Best of luck to anyone taking legal action. Unfortunately I don't have the money or time to pursue such a case and feel there are elements of ambiguity in my case that might make it more difficult for me to be successful in such an action.

I unwisely paid £700 and used their SEO 'services' in October 2005 which has had no impact at all. Despite many attempts to get satisfactory answers I've got nowhere. Today I was told the company was winding down and the people I dealt with no longer work there. It's probably a waste of time but does anyone think legal action would achieve anything?
Back in March 2005 I was approached by this bunch offering search engine keyword optimisation. I was very wary at first contacted their references Ardtaraig and Pestcontrol direct who interestingly have cropped up on here too!One of them said they had only seen modest results and the other said they were quite happy. I eventually decided to give them a try. I had just published my commercial website and was keen to improve my pagerank and traffic. I was paying £750 vat for 100 keyword optimised pages and 50 backward links from relevant sites with good page rank. This seemed like a good deal but how wrong can you be! They were late with the work, alwaysbreaking their promises of contact, the keywords they suggested were ridiculous. I picked my own words in the end! When they uploaded the new pages they didn't read properly with the correct grammar and the format was unprofessional. The pages have since been dropped by google making me suspect they had used illegal methods. I still haven't received my links over a year on despite pestering them (just kept getting fobbed off)and the pages they produced did little for my traffic! I have today received the same standard email from a company calling themselves seobank with the same references on it. Getting deja vu I looked at one of the references websites and found GNS credited with optimisation at the bottom of the page. So why the new name if they are a reputable company with nothing to hide? enough said! And I will be talkig to my bank and 2CO.COM who processed the payments about a refund! Don't touch them with a barge pole!!

I tried to start a chargeback on my credit card to get my refund but didn't get it as in my opinion they told my credit card company lies.
Luckily they used (and may still use) a company called 2checkout.com to collect their money from credit cards. This is an extremely professional outfit, based in the States I think. I complained to them and got a refund within 5 days. Drop me a line if you need proof of this company's incompetence and downright negligence or how to obtain a refund if they are being nasty or ignoring your e-mails.
I am writing to say that I am delighted with the service you have provided with regard to positioning my site on Google. As such, I am sure that I will be ordering more of your services in the future.

Made promises. Eight weeks went by with no results. Admitted that they sacked two staff for mis-selling. Unwilling to put matters right without further payment. I may be green - but not that stupid to throw good money after bad. My advise is to avoid this company.

This company took over £1000 from me on 7/7/05 promising to get me high in the search engine rankings. They have lost paperwork, e-mails and my account at one point. It is now 19/9/05 and I am no further forward. After repeatedly asking for my money back they are ignoring my e-mails and I have had to go to the bother of starting a charge back against them with my credit card company.
I would not touch this lot with a barge pole. They are the most incompetent, unprofessional company I have ever met.
Google is probably the worst search engine in the world.
Its that easy for our competition who have nothing better to do than make wild accusations.

I have used GNS Marketing LTD initailly for my first website. I was using pay per click systems such as overture to generate traffic. When the optimisation campaign was carried out i must admit i was skeptical as i did not understand the concept and it did take up to six weeks for the results to start commiong through. I must admit i was impressed as all my keywords are ranking highly. I still use my overture to generate additional traffic but i no longer need spend as much for the simple reason i am generating good quality search engine traffic. As such it has reduced my PPC spend by half. I also find that natural search engine traffic has a higher conversion rate than PPC traffic. I cant thank GNS Marketing LTD enough for their work and recommend their services to anyone interested in generaqting high keyword ranking. I paid them £586 in December for SEO work on my site. What did I get in return? Nothing, thats what.
I spent 6 months chasing them. I received plenty of assurances but non were delivered upon.
So I read on here that http://www.guaranteedcompensation.co.uk/ are "Really Happy". Well, they are owned by the same person that owns GNS.
I would not trust them ever again. I have the name and home address of the owner and will let you know how legal action progresses
