Interesting blag. I too have had the misfortune of purchasing a TaylorWoodrow home. After enduring a ridiculous 30+ "fix it" visits within a year, i had a final balcony repair that was needed. Long story short, it's been 4 months since I've reported it on paper, and much longer verbally. I've got a pregnant wife at home, as well, and was trying to avoid this moment, continued construction near the birth due date. What kills me, is that TaylorWoodrow has done nothing to convince me of why I should buy a Taylor Woodrow home, or why I would ever want to refer business? My impression has been this is a very poorly run company, with little sense of customer care. My advice, buy used. Had I known I had to take off so much work throught the last year to accomodate their "after purchase fix it" problems, I wouldn't have bought from them.
"Satisfied customers are key to our success." - thats what it says on their website !
But my experience leads me to believe otherwise ...
Hi folks - wonder if you can help me out on this one? (Its a bit long, sorry about that!)
Its not often im on here, but I thought I'd ask if you can help me out with my experiences with Taylor Woodrow / Bryant Homes and their lack of customer services.
We moved into the flat in September (it was completed in January) and door that leads off the main bedroom on to a roof terrace has been installed without any Door sealant (this stuff goes around the door or window and stops wind coming through, quite basic, but very important), which means that now its winter the wind literally gusts through (its that strong it blows the curtains around on the other wall, we're on the 12th floor!)
So what have we done ? Well we've sent a fax over to them to ask them to sort the door, which of course was not received, and neither was the second one - but the third one - they got, but only because I made damn sure and got the persons name, etc.
This was 3 and a half weeks ago and the door is still very bad. This wouldnt be so much of a problem apart from my girflriend is 5 months gone and has been in hospital a total of 12 times (twelve!) with a range of issues such as cold, etc.
I tend to think these of course are related, especially as some nights its not just windy, but freezing cold too - I cant believe we're getting a wind chill in our bedroom but we are !
So when Ive spoken to Taylow Woodrow/Bryant Homes, they have an array of excuses as to why they cant fix it. Apparantly now theyve ran out of sealant tape (Ran out of sealant tape !! A bit like Greggs running out of bread I would imagine!) for the door. They've now passed it onto another company (and hence I would imagine another 3 week wait).
The question is - what can we do about it.
Ive spoken with NHBC who are sending a letter to "request" that they sort the problem, but there are not timescales on their response on this.
The response Ive had from Taylor Woodrow is terrible, no-one cares or gives a damn, and their attitude is downright rude. My advice on this one of course is to make sure you never buy a Taylor Woodrow Property, because if it has any issues, you're stuck with them!
Whenever I phone up I end up speaking to a different person (not by choice, every time I get someones name and phone up the next day, they've left the company! This has happened 3 times so far - it must a bad place to work possibly!)
Finally, I've now yelled at the very arrogant Jill Dick, Manager of customer services there, who frankly doesn give a damn about the fact its freezing cold and I have a pregnant girlfriend who is suffering because of this).
After that I decided to speak to Andrew Aitchison, the Head of customer services, but I doubt that he will do anything and just back his staff up. Ive left a voicemail with his secretary, but I doubt he will contact me back, in true Taylor Woodrow fashion.
Any ideas on what else I can do ? I have considered getting out local newspaper involved, but seeing as we're a lettings agent and we have properties avilable to rent there, any bad press would jeopardise our business and our landlords, which I dont want to do.
Its been a very frustrating couple of weeks - and Ive ran out of ideas, so any help would be greately appreciated!
