I was totally sold this under false pretences. Does anyone know who to report them to? It looks like my money wont be seen again but I'd like to at least report them.
For those of you living in the UK its only around £30 to take a case to the small claims court, it a few of you get together it would be totally worth it to see these guys in court.

posted a comment 10 days ago, and following advice from Consumer Direct, wrote to vehicle match asking for refund under misrepresentation act. they replied citing all the terms and conditions but avoiding any reply to the question of misrepresentation. now advised to follow this up with a LETTER BEFORE ACTION demnding a response to the issue of misrepresentation, again a 10 day deadline for a response, sent recorded delivery to the manager at vehicle match. IF I still have no luck with a refund they are informed that I am considering court action..... but will this company show any respect for another mug like myself who fell for their sales pitch....... I suspect not but will update this site shortly!

Advertised with Vechiclematch after several annoying phone calls from them, when i go to look up my car on the web site its not there ? After calling there charming customer services (not) they tell me im not doing the search right....! Turns out they havent got the model right, and decided to knock E1000 off ? If you live in southern ireland like myself DON'T DO IT!!

 darcypants at 9th Jan 2007, 02:30PM
This company STOLE money from us. They phone you up GUARANTEEING a car buyer who then turns out not to exist.

We've taken matters further and the company director, who seems to have form in this area, will be getting court letters from us soon.

Don't use them. It is all a complete and utter con.

I was called by Vechicle Match on the understanding that they had a buyer whom wished to purchase my car that evening, and I had to pay for the warranty which would go on the car once sold.

After speaking to the police, and the trading standards, it a civil matter.

PERSONALLY I THINK WE SHOULD ALL ARRANGE A DAY, AND OVERWELM THEM BECAUSE THERE's GOOD REASON WHEN THERE'S MORE WHOM HAVE BEEN TAKEN FOR A RIDE. ALL IT NEEDS IS A DATE ARRANGED>

IF ANY WISHES TO CONTACT ME HERE wayne.sadler@gmail.com

This company is now claiming to be recommended by the AA; however, having spoken to AA's HQ I can confirm that that is not the case at all.

Furthermore, when you tell their seemingly friendly salespeople that you've read the negative comments about their company on Blagger.com, they then claim that this website is owned by one of their competitors!

 JackedOff at 28th Nov 2006, 11:26AM
Right apparently it is not a police matter as it is civil nor can my bank do anything.

I have been informed that you need to send an email to your local council (who you pay your council tax) they will then contact th LONDON BOROUGH OF REDBRIDGE who are already investigating this company. There is no point emailing LONDON BOROUGH OF REDBRIDGE directly as they informed me I had to contact the local council first.

Will let you know if anything comes off it.

Hope this helps

This company is an absolute disgrace. I registered with them, believing all their promises that they had loads of buyers specifically for my type of car. After numerous phone calls from them, I handed over my credit card details and got a reduced price of 50stg. Not one phone call from any buyers. I rang them to complain and although they seemed helpful on the phone, at the time, still no phone calls from any prospective buyers. Feel very stupid!!I am so mad that a company like this is exsisting.

If you want to part with £89 for nothing visit Vehicle Match.

I'm in the process of trying to get my money back via the bank luckily my telephone conversation was recorded and proves I was mislead so hopefully it will

Have tried to communicate with Vehicle Match but only way I could get through to them was via email and have had nothing but lies, arrogant and rude.

It’s not even about the money anymore it’s just why should this company keep getting away with this??????????

 Crackercaz at 2nd Nov 2006, 10:39AM
DO NOT TOUCH VEHICLE MATCH WITH A BARGE POLE. they are full of empty promises and play on desperate people selling their cars. Noone comes to see your car, infact you cant even contact anyone afterwards.

use autotrader - it is much safer and cheaper and u get something for your money.

Im taking vehicle match to court - any one want to join me?

 hoity at 18th Oct 2006, 04:27PM
I have been told not to use this place by autoexpert.org.uk Autoexpert told me to go and read what Daily Mail have said about vehiclematch

http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/news/columnists/article.html?in_page_id=19&in_article_id=412751&in_author_id=5

And after i read that it put me off. There is no evidense of anyone selling their car through them. I want to get my golf shifted and sold. Anyone offer me any good money for it - just look on the auto trader site for it. Red one 1999 s plate stunning car.

 billywhiteishard at 3rd Oct 2006, 07:01PM
Do not use. Vehicle match are a bunch of con artists. My car has been "actively marketed" for the last 6 weeks and I have had not one phone call! This was after been told that could the buyer come round this afternoon. That was late August and I am still at home waiting!!! Even though they are falling foul of Breach of Supply and Goods they have "no refund policy". I wonder how their staff sleep at night!

 matchmyarse at 3rd Oct 2006, 01:03PM
Hi everyone, I also got persuaded to part with my money, they sounded so plausible and I was desparate to sell my car, paid with credit card, has anyone managed to get their money back, if so what did you do??!!!

 alexarevel at 30th Sep 2006, 07:43PM
September's edition of "What Car" magazine has an article on car agencies and their business practices; Vehicle Match are mentioned, and it's not in a postive way - no suprise there.

 maninthestreet at 10th Aug 2006, 10:22PM
Actual Address of Vehicle Match -
96a George Lane, London. E18 1AD.
Stupidly got done in - sent round in circles by their idiot "sales team". These people think they are clever - maybe not as clever as my solicitor.
I have now reported them to the FSA, Trading Standards, Police Fraud Sqaud, Office of Fair Trading etc.

If you do the same something will be done - just copy and paste an e-mail to each of these agencies.

I will get my money back - even if I have to spend hundreds/thousands to do it - they will not win.

 A1jcg at 10th Aug 2006, 09:55AM
the '.co.uk' website does not appear to be active, but the '.org' and '.org.uk' websites are active.

 maninthestreet at 6th Aug 2006, 04:38PM

"...first advertised my car for sale 4 weeks ago and i'm still averaging 5 calls a day from agencies.......surely this counts as harrassment?"

This may be another way to get back at these blaggers - if you feel threatened or harassed in any way by a specifc company's persistent phone calls, especially if the callers have used profanities or any other insulting / personally derogatory language, they may be committing c-riminal offences under both the 1984 Telecommunications Act and the 1997 Protection from Harassment Act.
Even if no c-riminal offence is committed, you may still have a civil claim against them for harassment.

 maninthestreet at 2nd Aug 2006, 06:44PM
which bank did you manage to get your money back from Emm25? tried with my bank on their advice and now they're saying it's nothing to do with them!! first advertised my car for sale 4 weeks ago and i'm still averaging 5 calls a day from agencies........surely this counts as harrassment?

 eren at 1st Aug 2006, 08:51PM
Further to my recent comment we too rang the company to demand a refund and not being one who likes to hold my tongue I vented all my anger at them telling them how disgusting it is that we earn an honest living whilst they just con us of such hard earnt money!!! This didn\'t do anything clearly they have no conscience and they reherse these scenarios all the time. My partner later called them too and the woman was demanding he apologise for blaspheming them but of course he pointly refused!!! Anyway since then we spoke to the issuing bank who swiftly retrieved our money which was great stuff we were overjoyed. I would like to think all the other victims could go down the same route and clear the profts of this company!!! thankfully a happy ending to our story :)

 Emm25 at 20th Jul 2006, 11:09AM
spoke to my credit card company who are going to dispute the transaction. apparently if enough people do this they loose their right to take credit cards then it would stop them taking money off people?

 eren at 19th Jul 2006, 05:36PM
** BEWARE ** Comedy - just a had call from these guys. They have a very good (dangerous) sales tactic - asking about the car, then if you'd take less money, then if you're around that afternoon for a viewing... then they drop into the conversation the 'small fee' of £79.99, almost as if you don't care by now because of the great service offered.

I had the guy on the phone for 25mins... getting him to try to explain why would I pay £80 for a service that has less users/cars than Autotrader (to whom I had already paid money) and that I'd only get my money back on the slim chance that both (a) the car was sold through one of their 'customers' and (b) that person took finance .....

aah but the fee covers the cost of the warranty (only 6 month anyway) sir .... ok so why doesn't someone just phone me up offer me less money for my car, buy a warranty for £90 and get a loan from an online broker ...... well sir .. and it went on... in short don't touch a 'service' like this...

 jamesrevans at 18th Jul 2006, 02:44PM
Eren, you won’t need to take them to courtâÂ?¦ Their downfall has always been the method in which you pay for their “service” your credit / debit card. Just explain to the card provider you paid for a service with your card you have not received (i.e. the advert was incorrect). Detail that the advert they are displaying / using is incorrect, thus they haven’t provided you with a service, you have asked for your money back and they have refused.

The bank is the key here, all companies that can take cards over the phone have signed a contract with the bank, which basically makes them judge and jury, fortunately they tend to side with the consumer.
