I was with Pipex from 2005 - March 2008. When I left I had a dispute with Pipex and then its new owner Tiscali which to my knowledge was resolved. But suddenly out of the blue I have a letter from a firm called Fresdrickson demanding payment.

Has anybody else got this? What are you doing about? Thanks

I was with Pipex for about three years without any problems. I then took out Sky's tv/phone/broadband deal and so requested a MAC code and cancelled subscription etc with Pipex. They took almost three weeks to email me the MAC code, during which time I had no internet as they cut me off. Then received a notice to pay them two months charges from a debt collection agency. They hadn't even informed me I owed them anything themselves, but went straight to a collection agency. In a bit of a panick I paid what was asked, then looked into it. Turns out they got it wrong and now they owe the money back to me. They finally admitted it was their mistake and agreed to refund me within 28 days. That was almost 9 months ago now. I have sent them emails, letters and even contacted consumer direct. Each time I'm given a washy excuse as to why I haven't received the cheque and told yet again I will receive it in 28 days. Have even threatened them with small claims court to no avail. So be warned, Pipex might seem ok when you are with them but they will steal your money when you leave! And their idea of 28 days might end up being 12 months!

I had been a customer of Cix for many years when they were taken over by Pipex.

At first Pipex were good - then they seemed to cut back on Customer Services: they reduced the hours covered and it became almost impossible to get through after 6pm

One day after weeks of dropped connections, I lost my internet connection totally. Repeated phone calls to Customer Support got me nowhere. I spent over 8 hours in their queuing system trying to get the problem resolved: On one occasion I sat in a queue from 7pm until 8:10pm when they simply turned off the call management system and went home.

I requested my MAC from them - they said they'd sent it, it didn't arrive, I asked again, they said they sent it, then a few days later when I phoned them and asked about it they said that they couldn't issue a MAC as it wasn't "authorised".

After 74 days - yes thats 74 days, my connection was restored, Pipex were "generous" and agreed that I could have three months "credit" plus one as "compensation".

Then a couple of weeks later Pipex terminated my ADSL connection because once the problem had been resolved they had issued the MAC (to an email address that I didn't have).

I had to pay for another months usage to get me reconnected.

Needless to say I moved off them as soon as possible.

When things are going well, I have a good service. When things go bad however...oh dear. THREE TIMES they have overcharged me. TWO TIMES they charged me BT reconnection fee's of £60 when they shouldn't have. In total they have overcharged me £260.

I got this money back, but only after a full day of sifting through my accounts and credit card and several phone calls.

I have spent at least 8 hours real time on hold with them as well. Its a known fact people start to get VERY stressed after that kind of waiting.

The service itself is fast and reliable, with very few downtimes.

Well here we go the case is:
I've been a pipex Broadband subscriber for a few months now and every thing was OK until I had to deal with customers support...
I have no Internet connection for 4 days now.
I have checked all my system for correct funtioning. It is all working 100%.

As many times I have tryed to contact Cust. Support never managed to get in hold of them even that I spent HOURS ON THE PHONE listening to music and operators voice that I am on the que and will be anwered sortly... No one ever anwer my call even that I had the passion to stay over 40 minutes on the line.
Well got really upset and told they have some general problem. Wrote an e-mail and two days later the anwer was that I am on a que again and every thing will be done for the problem to be sorted within 2 days.
Well it is the forth (4th) day now all woking days and I still have no internet.
I have started to hate them ....

IF ANYONE CAN GIVE AN ADVISE HOW DEAL WITH THE MATTER, PLEASE WRITE TO

Good broadband supplier, cheaper than a lot of others and reliable. Migrating to them was a bit of a hassle, mainly due to BT rather than them.
