What do you expect when you buy second hand? Microsoft are far from perfect, but they have the right to prevent people using pirated software.

Even you argue it is not your fault your copy of windows is not genuine, it still does not make you entitled to free updates.

Well operating my computer will no longer be a pleasant experience thanks to Microsoft's latest update: Genuine Advantage a/k/a, spyware. It contacts people who do not have a genuine copy of their software,in their computer and basically they say they (Microsoft), have a right to know if their products are being licensed. I understand that, I don't understand the way they went about it. I bought this computer at a garage sale for $100 and the XP software was already on it. I've been using it for 4 years. You cannot delete their cyber spy,and if you don't have a licensed copy of their software, you aren't entitled to anymore of their updates. Anybody that wants to read more about it, go to Google and type in Microsoft Genuine Advantage. I don't know about other people, I just know that I don't have $150 for their software at this time. Unfortunately, I had automatic updates through them, that's how they got in. I think it's an invasion of my privacy for them to enter my computer for the purpose of syping on my software, to see if I have registered it with them. I believe with this Genuine Advantage software the way it is, they will eventually be able to shut everyone down who can't prove they have a legitimate copy of their software! I am incensed that Microsoft feels they can police people's PCs that way! Kiloecho7

Having used Microsoft AutoRoute 2005 I have found that the roads and streets have not been updated since, what I believe to be, the earlier 2001 version. For example, the M6 Toll road has STILL not been added to the route planner even though the motorway was completed in late 2003 to early 2004. Other details such as my home village have completely altered for the worse from the previous 2001 version of AutoRoute Express. Therefore my home village is now completely inaccurate. This must surely, in some way, be in breach of the Trade Descriptions Act of 1986.
