i have no intentions of giving this company another penny
Hi Glassman, when we sell our packages we don’t offer any one month trials and as you have said you entered into a 12 month agreement. However there is no need to go forward thinking being concerned. Please contact me so that we can discuss you account in greater detail and see if we can get this problem with your UFindUs account resolved as quickly as possible. Please send me an email to that ad@ufindus.com. I look forward to hearing from you shortly.
Thanks for your comments Fernel, it is very easy for people to make negative comments but so easy to forget, or not to bother to make postive comments.
I know that I managed to sort out your issues in a matter of minutes and you have now dealt with our support team and they sorted your quiery. Whilst I am the person who dealt with you I am not unique within the comapny. Our whole ethos is driven towards making sure that our customers get the support and the service that they deserve and expect.
I won't go into details about the problems we have been experiencing with Ufindus - very similar to what other people have wrote (pushy sales staff, misleading information, uninterested customer services, etc.)
I just thought it was worth mentioning that i sent an e-mail to Graham Armstrong (after seeing his name on this website) and he called me back within a couple of days - he was very helpful and sorted out my grievances on the spot - although i still wish we would have just said 'NO' to advertising with them in the first place, he has made the rest of the contract more managable for us.
I give Ufindus a thumbs down but i would give Graham Armstrong a big thumbs up.
Forget this one.
We were contacted over a year ago, and offered 1 month trail on their search directory.
stupidly gave them my credit card... this was meant to be a 1 off payment . I had to cancel my credit card to stop further deductions.
15 months on, i now have debt collectors chasing me for breach of a 12 month contract. Don't give into this mob, don't waste your money. contact trading standards .
Hi ASG,
There are obviously two sides to this and having look ed at your file it would seem that the only reference to the email address not working was made over a year after taking the product out and that other changes to the listing which were made (around 9 months after you took the product out)as soon as they were requested. The first steps guide which was sent to you when you took the package out detailed the steps that you needed to take to set up the forwarding on the email address info@(domain name).
I believe that most things can be worked through by discussion and I hope that we can address your issues and bring about a resolution.
Hi Ufindusvictim, I think that your comments are deliberately missleading and despite your wish that UFindUs don't respond to you I think it is worthwhile addressing a couple of things in an open forum such as this. Firstly your comments about buying a domain name for "I think £200 or maybe £300" are completely inaccurate. You comment makes it clear that you cant remember the amount you paid and the fact that this payment is being attributed to the purchase of a domain name is also incorrect. It shows that you don't seem to be able to remember what you purchased as you admit that it was only after you gave your details you were told it was a domain name you had purchased. With all the packages that we have sold over the years we will always provide a domain name free of charge as part of the package, dependent on the package taken it may even be an additional one or two domains that are provided, again free of charge.
Why is it that you don't want me to contact you and try to see if we can rectify your problems? It is fair enough that you feel you want to vent steam in this forum but I am at a loss as to why you blatantly don't want to make contact with us,despite what you say it seems that it is you and not UFindUs that have something to hide. Please do get in touch with me as I would like to try to help draw a line under this for you. The only other explanation for your posting and making it impossible for me to contact you is that you are not actually a customer at all and that you have other motives for doing this.
Thanks Karen for taking the time to redress the balance with your comment made on 5th December. I fully appreciate that the issues raised can be emotive but, as I have previously said, the vast majority of comments that people make here can be resolved. It is always worth while to contact us and talk things through. If there is anyone else who feels they have a problem with either Customer Street or UFindUs products then please let me know.
Have you noticed how Graham from ufindus answers most of the comments and gives his own company a good rating therby giving an overall rating of 3 fro ufindus surely the rating should only be affected by consumers?
Therefore ethically shouldn't he give a no score rating?
Surely Blagger.com should enforce this?
Anybody who wishes to contact me regarding this company with a view to fighting any court case please feel free to do so
All I would like to say about ufindus is use them at your peril, after agreeing to them puting our details on ufindus, they palced a none exisitent email address on the site for us which went nowehere after several attempts to change the email address which we did and then they changed back! we contacted tehm and asked them to do it, it never happened! so potential customers and existing customers who searched for our details on the web never had a response in fact we lost exisiting customers because of it
We never receieved any invoices from them while we where paying
We have now been threatened with legal action 18 months after there last contact with us and have been told that another 12 months is now due!
Has anybody had any experience of taking this outfit to court?
I certainly intend to in fact I feel I should sue them for the damage they have caused my business!!
Wish blagger had a rating of very very bad company and not just bad!
I would just like to say that since I submitted my blagger about Ufindus that I have spoken to Graham Armstrong and he was a very reasonable man. I would advise that if anyone has a problem to contact him. He phoned me regarding my collections letter that I had been sent and it has all been sorted out. Luckily they had a recorded conversation that i had made where i read out the letter from them saying my account was closed if I paid the £161, which I did. My case has been closed now and the collections dept have been informed to cancel everything. I was extremely upset about it from the beginning as the account was closed months ago and they had informed me of that by letter which they couldn't find and then they send me a letter from a collections dept to say I owe them £328 ! Graham had admitted it was their mistake and that it shouldn't of happened which I knew but it was nice to hear it ! The funniest thing is that after I spoke to Graham I found the letter that I thought I had got rid of, saying my account was closed so I guess I am one of the lucky ones. My advise is speak to Graham if you have a problem.
Gary, I had had exactly the same experience ! We had a website done which we weren't happy about so I sent a letter(which I have a copy of ) explaining I wanted it cancelled and that I was cancelling the direct debit.I heard nothing too, then got a phone call 6 months later and was told that they hadn't received a cancellation letter and that we had enter a 12 month contract (verbally) and would have to pay 12 months of D/Ds. I was not happy but in the end agreed to it. They sent a letter to me to say the account would be cancelled when I paid £161 so I did. I thought that was the end of it but no I then got a letter from their collections dept to say I owed £328 but I had already paid up for the year and they had already written me a letter to say that the account would be closed if I paid the £161 but they couldn't find it on their system !! What company doesn't scan or file their letters. I couldn't find the letter they had sent me due to the fact that I had paid the money and the case was closed. Now I am waiting to hear from Graham Armstrong after leaving a message for him to phone me. Good luck Gary with your case.
I don't know whether to be happy that I'm not alone, or sad, that so many people have been ripped off.
Iomart designed a webbpage for me 4 years ago and then rang to tell me in their words 'it's c**p'.
They then asked if I'd like to pay £2000 to upgrade it.
I refused and sent a cancellation letter asking for my money back - I heard nothing, so put it down to experience and wrote it off.
4 years later I get a call from Ufindus to say they have been billing me for the past 4 years and if I didn't pay they would send in the debt collectors.
I informed them that I cancelled their service and also that I hadn't ordered any other services.
They said you don't have to, by paying your initial invoice, you entered into a business to bussiness contract and we can bill you indefinety.
I told them that was obsurd and also that I hadn't received any notification, invoices or statements regarding the matter over the past 4 years.
I was then told by their account manager Cindy: It's not up to us to inform you that you owe us money, you should have logged into our website, we are paperless office!
Alarm bells started ring that this might be a wind-up, but to my horror she was for real.
How do these multi-million pound Companies get away with it. Why is the Governmental bodies doing nothing to stop them. The man in the street would get a 10 year prison sentence for extortion & blackmail.
It's a licence to print money and it appears our Governmenal bodies welcome it. Trading standards pass you onto consumer protection, they in turn pass you onto the DTI. Perhaps these Governmental bodies think I've got nothing better to with my time, but as a one man business, I need to put my time to good use, mainly paying my mortgage and feeding my kids.
OK, let me explain - I got a full refund from Iomart for their Rapidrank service several years ago after it failed dismally to meet any of the claims in the sales pitch.
Anyone who has followed Iomart's history of complaints over the years will know that in its day that was quite an achievement.
At the time I was involved with a group of Iomart customers who had similar problems with Iomart's service.
There was a lot of bad publicity on the Internet at the time regarding Iomart's Rapidrank and Google Plus services so when Iomart started selling Ufindus rather than the product I, and others, had purchased and which was known as Rapidrank, I had hoped that Iomart had learned from those complaints and produced a better service.
Sadly, I then heard of people with similar experiences to mine who had purchased the Ufindus product or service from Iomart.
Obviously people who had been cold-called by someone from Ufindus might do a Google search for Ufindus problems just to double check that it was a good company to deal with. They would not know to Google for Iomart or Rapidrank problems.
Last year I had a few people contact me to say that Iomart had sent in the debt collectors for accounts closed a couple of years ago. Last week I had a phone call from another person who'd had a refund and thought their account was closed over a year ago but had recently received a debt collectors letter.
Hence I keep an eye out on Blagger now and again to see if other people are still having problems.
When I saw the new directories I had two concerns. The first was that the sites are so good in presentation that visitors could be led to believe that those listed were part of a professional organisation and not simply listed on a directory where anyone can list themselves for free or pay for a better listing regardless of the service they offer.
The second concern was the, quite legitimate, bait of the 'list yourself for free'. Once someone lists themselves for free on one of those business directories they canot claim they are not a business. Previous customers of Iomart's other services were not protected by Trading Standards as the contract was deemed to be B2B or Business to Business. In addition, they could not claim to have been 'cold called' by Iomart sales staff because they had listed themselves in the directory of their own volition.
I have no connection with Orange Pages but I post there now and again as it is a source of information for people who have had problems with Ufindus.
Since my initial problems with Iomart I have learned a great deal abour SEO and my own sites are nearly all on page 1 of Google so I now know it isn't rocket science.
I fail to understand how sending the debt collectors in on someone who has received a full refund can be considered legitimate business practice. I can only imagine that either it occurs in error or it is an exploitation of some kind of small print in the contract.
Perhaps Iomart would like to use this opportunity to explain the basis on which such claims are made against those who've received a refund and had every right to consider their contract with Iomart as ceased...
Hi Jo

Awful awful awful!!!! Pressurised by sales pitch my partner signed up. They did the website which actually did more harm than good (its not good for a sign and print company to have lots of spelling mistakes now is it!). Never yielded any sales. No one ever phones when they say they will. DREADFUL!!! Now we have tried to move away they have debited our account twice but have still failed to switch the domain over. We have now not had a live website for over 3 weeks and unless resolved very soon may take legal action.
