i am surprised by reading other remarks specially the guy who read other reviews and did not go ahead with the booking , where as he was getting such a good deal .the tel no is not a premium no. it is a national no. where as these mobile companies are making money by charging high rates.
u ll see mostly people leaving bad reviews in case where things have gone wrong with them. but when things go right we never laeve good reviews. Today after reading this i ll make sure any company i deal with i shall leave a review.
i have dealt with Southall travel personally on several occasions and never had problem . i personally find there staff very helpful and going out of there way to help. i have been booking tickets from past 7 years and i completely trust them with my money. Things do go wrong but there is alwayz a solution to it. i had instances where ticket is nonrefundable and they alwaz advise . and its our fault if we dont read the terms and conditions and then shout at others.
They issue the ticket on deposit which they have been doing for me and just before the travel week i have cleared balances even on etickets and had no issues with them.
I think it is a Great Travel company to do buisness with and i recommend to everyone. dont go on other people bad experiences and try it yourself. At the end we are all humans and mistakes are bound to happen ... but it doesn t make us wrong people....
I telephoned this company to enquire about a flight to Australia. I was given a price of £300 less than the cheapest major agent and told I need pay only a deposit of approx £250 at this stage with the balance six weeks before. I thought this rather odd as I had been informed by several other companies that the condition of this ticket was that it was paid in full at the time of booking. In view of what I have read on 'Blagger' I decided not to go ahead with this booking but was very cross to find my call to them had been charged at £8 as I had been given no indication that this was a premium rate call.
we booked our trip to India through southall travel. We arrived in Mumbai and i got all the train tickets and the vouchers from their agent in India for the transport and hotels.We were taken to our hotel and the next day to the train station and then at Janshi taken to Orchha to the Bundelkhand,a great hotel.
All of our subsequent transfers went of well and right up to our last transfer to Trivandrum airport.
i hope to travel again with southall travel.

SOUTHELL BAD TRAVEL,
I booked return flight from birmingham to amritsar three months in advance. I paid extra for these flights as I wanted direct flights as I had young children.
A week before flying we were told that our return flight had been cancelled by air india and that i had to return two days earlier. I explained to no avail that I was going for a week and needed to return on the original date. I have phoned air india several times was told by them that the flight was not cancelled but overbooked. AFter many futile phone calls I was told that they had rearranged my flights to return on the original day but from amritsar to london...still a direct flight.
A day before I am due to fly they phone me again and say flight times have changed ...then send me an email that flight times have changed and that it is no longer a direct flight but stopping in delhi instead of a 9 hour return flight it is now 14 hours.
Southall travel cannot be trusted, their communication skills are appalling. They are excellent at saying,"I am sorry mam but there is nothing I can do" They are excellent at lying and masters of incompetence. This company should not be allowed to operate, they cause undue stress and frustation. I have complained to abta but they were not very helpful.
Southall Travel is a big company & no doubt i that but itsa worst company as well.....they just know how to earn pounds once you will pay them then they wont give you services & let me tell you ppl ....dnt reissue your tickets from them cuz they charge alot on that... if net fare is 30 pound then they will charge 150 pound or may be more. I would like to advice ppl not to book with southall travel...there is alot of small companies which gives good fares & very good services....please write the name of agent also with whome u dealing!!
These people are very helful up to a point. The point being when you pay for your booking. There ends any level of Customer Service.Before I made the booking, they were phoning me all the time, after paying them over 5000 Pounds for my booking, I then found it impossible to get confirmations or even a coherant reply to my queries. On travelling, I found out that my daughter's booking had been processed as separate to mine and found it difficult to get to sit near her.
Do not go there if you like to know what your travelling plans are.They put me through so much stress that I will never use them again.
As if my previous experience wasn't enough. I found myself in a position where I had to book another flight and decided, for some reason, to use Southall Travel.
I booked online and paid the full amount via my debit card.
I did not receive my eTickets however and the next day I contacted them to see why.
"we have received your funds, but we have had to return the money because it did not arrive with the correct 6 figure authority code from the server".
"so now what?" I asked. They told me I would have to pay again, I refused and said that I was not going to trust their system with another £500 only to find that my money is 'tied up' because they cannot accept it.
We agreed that I would make a payment of £2 to test their system. This failed too.
They then asked me to visit a local branch of Barclays to pay the cash into their account!!!!
I refused and said that they had promised my credit of £500 would be returned within 24hrs and it had now been 72hrs. I was not prepared to give them any money until I received the credit.
They said that I would lose the seat on the flight then.
I decided to shop around on flights and found a flight for the same day at £56 cheaper!
This flight was promptly booked, but today, over 4 days later, I am still waiting for my credit to be paid back into my account.
I've recently been unfortunate enough to have come in contact with this company.
I booked two flights from Manchester to Bangkok 3 months in advance of the journey. Some two weeks later I attempted to make a minor change to the details during which time I was informed that the return flight times had been delayed and this would add almost an extra 20 hours to the flight time!
I asked for a refund and cancellation of the flights as this change was too inconvenient.
I was told to allow up to 4 weeks for the refund. Five weeks later I called to comment that the refund has not been received. Their reply? .... "we were not sure if you would like it paid back into your account or would prefer a cheque, so we have not processed the credit".
How pathetic.
I explained that I would not have minded either way, but now expected prompt action!
4 weeks later, and around £30 worth of telephone calls, I finally received my refund.
Beware of using this company - if you call the telephone number of the company they keep you hanging on, deal with your call slowly and rake up 80p a minute - there intention is to make extra cash out of you - my "quick" call lasted 40 minutes (I was encouraged to use the phone service for my booking despite having already entertered all my details on the internet and havingonly 1 quick question). Total cost about £30 for the call - Luckily I was suspicious that the "rep" seemed to be deliberately going slowly - she even wrote me an email whilst I waited - and when I asked if it was a premium rate line I was immediately given an 0207 number - she knew all along what she was doing!
Several calls later - you can only get through to them initially by using the premium rate line and I was finding it difficult to find someone who could "understand" my ccomplaint and who did not then put me on hold and pass me on to someone else who then did the same....In addition for the pelasure of using the phone booking instead of the internet booking I was intending to make I was expected to apy an additional £10 a ticket (£40! in total - making the price of my tuickets with the phone calls about £80 more expensive!! At one stage this "service charge" was raised to £15 just like that.
Luckily having seen what the company is like and no money having changed hands - I cancelled my flight booking - I would seriously recommend that you do not use this company. They are out to make as much out of you as possible - don't fall for the headline prices!
I have started using a third party agent who uses them, so my troubles are over, they get my ticket at a good price, honest and any issues sort them out. I think Southall have got too big for their boots and the bigger they get the hard they will fall if they don't start looking at customers from the ground roots. I predict that more and more people are not happy with online bookings, and therefore customers like myself will start looking for online agents who can keep things in prepective for people like me and take out the frustration of dealing with businesses that take the ????
Never deal with SouthHELL agency. They try to sell unexisting tickets and as soon as you it is impossible to return the money back when the reservation has not been confirmed yet. I have captures my conversation with one of the operators so you can see how extremally rude and unprofesional they are.

I have had terrible experience with Southall Travels.I work in UK all alone and I was visiting my 3 year old daughter after an year. I was trying to book the tickets through Southall travels. The agent booked me on a higher price even though their own website was quoting a lower price. They were very rude when I called back the next day to enquire if there was a mistake when checking the price.
They were so inhuman and did not hesitate to cheat a mother who was travelling after an year to see her child. God Bless them.
My wife and I had the misfortune to book a flight through Southall Travel. We arrived at heathrow on 28-12-06 in plenty of time for our departure on Etihad airlines, only to discover the flight had already departed one hour before. The reason for this flight reschedule was Southall's negligence in informing us of the airlines change of schedule despite being aware of the schedule change 5 months previous. Not only was our our flight tickets printed up with the wrong departure time, our flight itinary was also incorrectly timed. All this despite receiving the tickets only three weeks prior to flight. Etihad airlines faired little better in this debacle, Etihads uncaring response was to cancel our return flight from Bangkok on the basis of 'no show no return.'
Our holiday all but ruined we continued by having to shell out £1300.00 for a new flight. We complained to Southall Travel, who promptly absolved themselves of all blame by claiming they had informed us of the flight changes by e-mail. Which we never received, their further get out clause was to claim that we did not re-confirm our flight 24 hours before departure. Considering we only received our tickets three weeks before departure we did not think it necassary mainly as frequent flyers we had never been asked to re-confirm an outward flight before. we complained to ABTA. What on earth is their purpose? It certainly isn't to lean on any of their incompetent 'members'
The moral of the story here is simple Southall travel can print out any flight times they wish to. neglect to inform pasengers of crucial changes, and hide behing a small print 're-conformation' clause which lays all the responsibility at the door of the unsuspecting traveller. Outrageous. my advice to anyone considering booking through Southall Travel? do so at your own risk.
I would like to congratulate Southall on the service we received last week on a holiday to Dubai. The service was excellent, the drivers we had from and to the airport were very accommodating. The agent suggested us a new airline and experience was one of the best companies we have travelled with, if not the best. Thank you Southall travel very much for the excellent service.
i will advise people to be very careful while using this company, they are very rude and uncooperative once they have got hold of your money even if they are to blame they wont accept it.they sent me tickets with the wrong names and are saying its my fault and are expecting me to pay nearly 300 pounds per ticket for cancellation and re booking. i am suffering from severe stress and frustration.please stop using this company as they seem to be getting away with a lot without any repercussions and i find it hard to accept they have apta membership.
Whatever you do, NEVER purchase a flight or holiday from this company!! I recently purchased 2 tickets from London Heathrow to Seattle with a stop-over in Washington, flying United Airlines. When I received my itinerary, I realised that I landed in Washington Dulles but left from Washington Ronald Reagan, which is 28 miles away, with NO connection!! Furthermore, the flight from Reagan to Seattle was with US Airways with a stop-over in Charlotte!! This was stated NOWHERE on the itinerary!! Also, I will now have an additional cost getting between the airports which neither Southall nor UA claim responsibility for! As far as I can see, if I pay for a flight from London to Seattle, I should be able to get there for that money, which now, I can't because I would have to pay for a (VERY expensive) taxi drive. I have been booking flights on the internet for 7 years, this is the first time something like this has happened to me! I have tried to get a refund or at least change the flight but Southall has refused! I have also contacted ABTA and Consumer Direct, though no answer yet...
Any other ideas how I can claim my rights??
For a huge range of reasons... including messing up my travel plans through incompetance, to appalling "Customer Care", I would suggest Do not EVER EVER use this company
If I were you I would write to Southall Travel giving them fourteen days to refund your money in full. Otherwise you will be forced to contact your solicitor. Also write to ABTA head office letting them know what you have done.
Keep copies of all the letters you send and any replies you get.
This company should be struck of the ABTA board as they do not deserve to have the membership.
I booked a holiday at the end of november to new york and everything was good, until someone happened to mention in my family that as i had a criminal record i would need a visa to get into the USA.
So i phoned up southall and they say hey no you dont,its ok just go for it,no problems!! (incompetent idiots!!) so i phone up the British Embassy and they say yes actually you do need a visa so sorry your holiday will hve to be cancelled as you wont get a visa in time for your xmas holiday.
So i phone back up Southall and they say TOUGH LUCK!!!! you aint having a penny back.
So i then phone up ABTA and they say that under the code of conduct which travel agents have to follow they should advise you about Visa requirements before taking your money. Well they didnt so now i have no holiday and no refund and these tramps Southall Travel wont give me a penny back and they will get to resell my holiday, therefore making £1800 in total while i dont see a penny through there incompetence.

So i then phone up ABTA and they say that under the code of conduct which travel agents have to follow they should advise you about Visa requirements before taking your money. Well they didnt so now i have no holiday and no refund and these tramps Southall Travel wont give me a penny back and they will get to resell my holiday, therefore making £1800 in total while i dont see a penny through there incompetence.
