Overall the service was good, and the installation team were skilled,pleasant and the windows look great. i would recommend strongly.
I forgot to say earlier, in my quest for a decent company that I would be more than happy to use Amber if I was dyslectic, as they seem to perform particularly well with that type of customer.
Sometimes comments on these types of sites are a joke. You reckon that Amber Windows have been on here putting on good testimonials just because someone hasn't had the same experience as you. Well, from what I can see you are obviously in competition with Amber Windows and are just entering in bad reviews - you see, it can work both ways!!!

They insisted for security reasons that both home owners had to be present, when I asked why, they said it was for my security! I think we all know the reaosn why.
The salesman was arrogant, and insisted that the product (Bowater) was only available from them. Which is not true at all.
I understand the need for a demonstration, but dont need half an hour for chit chat.
He asked me what other quotes I have had and where from and then slagged those two companies!
Very unprofessional.
He insisted on me telling him my best quote, because he claimed he could beat it.
If this happens to you, do what I did and dont give it, insisting that you only want their best price and service levels.
I think the window is not that bad, and could have bought it if it wasnt for poor salesmanship, offering me buy it now deals etc.
Its a cheaper lower end product, and as im moving soon it could have suted
I have just had all of my windows and doors fitted by Amber and they have done a lovely job. We looked at prices and their price was about the same as the other 2 quotes we got. The good think about Amber was the turnaround time as they make the products in their large factory which they invited us to in Coleshill.The fitters have been with the company a long time so they were skilled and experienced guys. Their customer service dept kept us informed and we highly recommend them as this is the second time we have used them. There are a lot of back-street companies out these but at least this one has been going a long time and should see my guarantee through. Well done Amber.
My experience is that we were both asked to be present and I was informed they would be there about 1.5 hours!! Other companies only take 15 minutes. They then wanted to sit down and go through their folder. Everything was we can do tha in a bit! It took ages with the whole folder of stuff to look at. Even though I rushed him along, he was still here ages (1hr 15 mins). The price was double. Their sales tactics include phoning into the office at every available opportunity and making up stories of other jobs, including 'listed' buildings, they were working on. How they could do the job straight away! Apparently their windows are make to the hole size and if your gap is not straight, they make the window on the bend to match!! Rather than fill the gap!! Big pressure to sign on the day, to see what the daily offers are. however, when they rang the manager, he didn't ask to give us a bigger offe. However, if we did sign, they probably could easily cut the price in half!!! Don't know what their work is like, but I don't trust them to part with my hard earned cash to find out. Too many vary obvious sales pitches which old and vulnerable people will obviously fall for.
The sales manager who came out to quote us for window was very helpful, also the fitting of the window went well too & looked very nice, i noticed the next day 1 of the windows had a gap in it so let a huge draft through, i rang after sales to sort problem out and after a week i am still waiting for problem to be sorted, my living room has been very cold since my window was fitted!

This evening, some 10 weeks later, I perused Blagger.com again to read recent observations left by others concerning Amber Windows. I was surprised then amused by the large number of comments left by the individual “amber windows” all highly praising the firm but crudely purporting to be left by different people – (Ms H from Birmingham, Mr & Mrs Salt from Derby, Mrs E from Great Barr etc. etc. etc.). The pathetically obvious deception and atrocious spelling compounded the impression that the remarks had been left by a halfwit.
I leave other readers of the page to form their own opinion as to the motive of this dyslectic individual; as of 8/1/2008 he/she left eleven positive comments concerning Amber Windows and none for any other firm.
So as not to personally distort the blagger rating of the firm I'm not leaving a feedback rating on this occasion.

This company is a nightmare my house is fully double glazed and we have told them this many times in the past.But every week with out fail they phone up to try and sell us double glazing

I recently decided to have the fascias & soffits replaced on my home and invited a number of firms to quote for the work, including Amber Windows. I received a number of estimates, and by the time an Amber representative called I had already formed a pretty clear view of the costs I was likely to incur. What did surprise me a little was that on the day of the previously arranged appointment someone from the company phoned to enquire if both I and my wife would be present when they called round – I asked what relevance that had to the matter and was told “We really like both husband and wife to be present”. I informed the caller that I lived alone and received the reply “Oh, that’s all right then” upon which he rang off. Later in the day a very polite young man arrived who first spent an inordinate amount of time measuring up - the four firms that had quoted me previously had given their price and answered all my questions within ten minutes, but this lad took absolutely ages, taking copious notes and chatting away all the time; I was in no hurry so I left him to it. After more than half an hour I asked him how he was getting along and he said that he now needed to work the figures out; he asked if he could telephone his boss first, I had no objection but the ensuing conversation was so obviously constructed solely for my benefit I temporarily left the room. The calculation exercise also took ages, all the time he was chatting about the company, the quality of the product, the company motto and other trivia. The price, when it arrived, was absolutely ridiculous, far more than double the most expensive quote I had previously received. He asked me what I thought, affected concern and promptly reduced the price by over £1000 if “I would be prepared to let them place an advertising notice at the front of the house while the work was being carried out”. I declined but decided to let him continue with the charade as I was curious to hear the final price – another call to the boss was made, followed by another offer - a further reduction of nearly £800 if the work could be slotted in with another job they already had booked in the area . This, it was explained, “would reduce the scaffolding costs”. Fortunately I’m completely immune to high pressure sales banter and had really nothing important to do, so I let the chap carry on. Further calls to the boss were made until finally a ‘today only’ price was finally arrived at, the boss waiting on the line to hear my response. I informed them that I had already explained that I had other firms to see and would make my decision in a week’s time. Even now the chap took ages to pack up his belongings and depart, at the very last minute he asked if he could ring his boss again “to tell him I’m leaving ”. I suggested he make that call from his car, by that time he had been with me for nearly two hours.
I can’t comment upon the quality of work carried out by Amber, the literature I was shown suggest they sell a good (but vastly overpriced) product and all the people I spoke to from the firm were pleasant, but the hyped up and relentless sales technique used did little to recommend them to me. I have now had the work done by another firm to my complete satisfaction, at a fraction of the cost quoted by Amber.
- I was looking out of my window one morning and I saw one of the neighbours getting some new windows fitted on there house, and I felt it was about time I added some home improvements to my house. I monitered the progress of this company and I was so impressed I decided to confont the fitters who I might add were doing a brilliant job,within weeks I had the same to men fitting my own windows and they were brilliant, I am very happy, now most of my street has either a conservatory new windows or even new guttering, amber is a very good company and gave me a great service.
- I had two young chaps from amber come at fit some windows for me in October 07, they did a very good job, I think that if every company worked as well as amber then the world would be a better place. I give them a 10/10 for everything. over all a very good service.
- My windows have recently been fitted by amber group of campanies, and I am over the moon, it's just marvellous, they offer a great service on the whole, I will definatly be telling my friends and family to choose amber.
-I had my windows fitted by amber in october 07, and my opinion is they are absolutly beautifull,why dont people realise how brilliant amber are, i think they are marvellous polite and friendly and they new what they were doing and carried out a excellent serivce,the sales representative was a lovely chap and it was a pleasure to speak with him.

I'm a single lady who lives on my own in Nottingham. Next door lives the Jones family who invited me over for tea a few weeks ago. They just got brand new French glazed windows beautifully done by a place called Amber Windows - and really affordable as well. So I called the double glazing company and a friednly sales lad come over and did measurements for me. He gave me a quote and I first browsed their webstie amberwindows.net to make sure they are a reputable company. After I was satisfied they came to do my windows and I'm really impressed, can't wait to invite Mrs Jones over for tea.
My husband surprised me the other day when he told me that we could do some home improvement on our house. I immediately got quotes from double glazing companies in our area - we live in Midlands. Amber windows were the company that I choose because their prices were competitive and their sales person wasn’t too pushy like the others.
I got the whole house done from the windows in the lounge and bedrooms to a brand new cupboards! I’m so excited because now I can finally call our house a home. I would recommend Amber windows to anyone – they really are the best!
Amber windows replaced all of the windows in my house on the 23rd of May 2007. I had never heard of this company however i was thoroughly impressed with their professionlism and attitude towards their work. Initially an installer came round and assesed the work required and was reluctant to continue due to unforseen problems with the origional fittings of the windows. This was solved very quickly by a manager who delivered a double team of installers to my house the very next day.
I was very impressed by the quality and standard of the work. The men worked effectivly as a team and were dedicated to providing a high standard of service as promised.Initially i was concerned wether or not they would complete the job due to the problems as mentioned, however i was reassured by the final outcome. The team payed attention to detail, replaced all of my furniture as well as cleaning the mess they produced. You would never know they had been!
I would deffinatly reccomend Amber windows to anyone looking for even the smallest window replacements. They are the company for you.
