For all the hype, John Lewis is one of the worst companies out there. Every time we have bought something from them, there has been an issue. One item we purchased was a washing machine. Within 6 weeks, it broke down. To make a long story short, they refused to replace it, and instead I had to take 3 morning off of work to have someone come in/look at it, then it took them 4 weeks to get the parts, they eventually installed a new motor which was noisier than the original! According to my consumer rights, this should have been replaced. Not only did I myself and my employer lose out on valuable time, but we also didn't have a washing machine for 4 weeks!! Their customer service was atrocious, they were rude and wouldn't listen. My suggestion: NEVER EVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! We also bought a fridge and had similar problems, and expensive tea china, which arrived 3 weeks late and damaged!!!! JOHN LEWIS IS THE WORST!
We were impressed with the "Price Match".
Curry's had a TV £100 cheaper. John Lewis gave us the price match, even though their deal included a free 5 year warranty, which means the warranty was genuinely free and the price match is a genuine promise.
My wife and I put our wedding list with John Lewis a couple of months prior to our wedding at the start of August. Big mistake! It's now the middle of October and despite several phone calls and a letter to their customer service dept which after three weeks has not been responded to, we have only had a few items delivered.
I used to be a good customer of both John Lewis and their supermarket outlet Waitrose and I calculate that my average anual spend with them at being about £3,000. Their poor service in this matter means I will never spend another penny with them.
John Lewis, you have just lost a life-long customer... well done.
Havin just recieved a letter of debt recovery from a company called westcot Credit Services out of the blue for £244 wich came as a bit of a shock as I have had no communication from either John Lewis or Waitrose regarding my account had I known it would not have got this far. Does any one have any advice on how I can go about clearing this matter up.
Having read the Blags about Westcot I dont really want to deal with them (I cant pay it all in one go anyway)Should I take this matter up with John Lewis or Westcot?
