I've been using this cleaning company for around 6 months (oxford franchise) and not had any issues about their cleaning or demeanor - the staff have always been very polite and friendly and the cleaning top notch. However they recently broke an expensive item and despite initially saying they would replace it, after finding out exactly how much it cost they've gone oddly quiet.
I suspect I'm going to lose out in the long term which is upsetting especially as it was a wedding present.
Just as a warning, keep an eye on where your breakable stuff of sentimental or monetary value is because although the cleaning has been good, the staff are usually in a rush which is, I'm sure, the reason it happened.
I have been suffering with a bad back and my house has been in dire need of a good clean for years. I decided to treat myself to a professional clean. “Professional”? Huh. I booked a four hour session. The website is very vague about how the four hours is given – they don’t tell you it’s two people at two hours each so two hours is the time they come for. They turned up and I wasn’t at home so my husband and daughter gave them my priority list. Hall (up and down), kitchen, lounge and downstairs loo (an extremely small room!). They managed to clean the hall, clean down a few kitchen tops and do part of the windows in the lounge. That was it. Not only that, they left after just one and a half hours, enough time left to do the tiniest room in the house. No vacuuming was done, which was really important.
I am beyond upset. My daughter has called to ask where the floor cleaner is as the kitchen floor still needs cleaning and she said she will vacuum and dust (two of my priorities) as she didn’t want me upset on arriving home to a house that still needed half doing.
I really could cry. I could ill afford this but it needed doing. I am throwing a surprise party for my brother’s 50th at the weekend and still have to do what I have paid for someone else to do.
So suprised about the negative comments, I have have had a good reliable service and do not recognise the company/service some comments describe! I continue to use their services as my busy life couldn't cope without them.
SHEFFIELD BRANCH - Manager - Paula Cook(useless). Cleaners - Lisa and Kellianne (lazy and couldn't give a damn about their work).
Well, I read the reviews on Daily Poppins Website, and after a meeting with the manager PAULA COOK, who said ALL the right things, I thought, "Finally, I have found decent cleaners!" - I didn't have to tell her what I wanted doing, she came out with all the speel, none of which was actually done by the even more incompetent cleaners!
HOW WRONG I WAS!!!!
Absurdly expensive, but I didn't mind paying if they'd actually cleaned!
Can anyone tell me if they think it's possible to clean a 5 bed house (2 cleaners) in 1 hour and 10 minutes? It takes me a good 8-10 hours to clean it myself (but at present, have had a c-section, so am limited as to what I can do).
I gave the manager a sheet with what I wanted doing / not doing, which she agreed to, yet it was TOTALLY ignored.
They used products I specifically asked them not to use, causing me work!
They missed so much cleaning, I ended up going round and trying to do it myself, in my currently limited capacity. VERY upsetting and frustrating.
If they spent more time doing the jobs I asked for, instead of making my already perfectly made up bed (and they made a right mess of it!), folding toilet paper in to triangles, and rolling up towels, not to mention putting ornaments / kitchen appliances / picture frames / etc., back in the wrong places (which I know are tricks of the trade to make it look like they've cleaned - My Mum used to manage a cleaning company), they would have more time to do the jobs required!
I was amazed when they arrived and said to me, "Today is a one hour clean as there are three of us." - I do not pay for a TIMED clean! I pay for the house to be cleaned as per our agreement.
They pad out the time sheets, pretending they've been here for longer. But I'm always in, so what that's all about, I have no idea!
On top of that, the customer service is appalling - I am rarely replied to, I have to call them to find out when they're arriving...the list goes on and on and on, but I think you get the picture!
So, to summarize - APPALLING COMPANY WHO ARE OUT TO EARN AS MUCH MONEY AS POSSIBLE, DOING AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE, AND TREATING THEIR CLIENTS APPALLINGLY.
I've stopped today's cheque, they're not getting any more of my money. I am dsgusted with them.
I've also reported them to local Tabloids and Watchdog.
Watch out for them on there, if enough people complain, I am sure they'll be on it!
Worst cleaners I have ever had the misfortune to come across.
DO NOT USE, they do not deserve your hard earned cash!
Used them yesterday and wanted to rebook which is how I found this site! I must say the service I received was professional from the initial enquiry I made to the service being completed hence wanting to rebook. In some ways I'm glad I didn't read some of the comments below first as I may not have had the confidence to have used them which would have been a real shame.
I purchased into the Daily Poppins franchise some time ago and every thing went fine until my turnover grew to the point that I had to register for VAT. From that point on my profitability was a long way below my expectations and the projections of the franchise. We approached Mr N Bearman the franchise owner about this. He agreed to meet and discuss the problem but never turned up and kept avoiding the issue. In hindsight I really wish I had got an accountant to check the projections over for me before I entered into the franchise.
My wife hired this company to clean our house and I can say that I am absolutely livid. A lot of promises and no results to the point where our sink was cleaner before they came! My new gloss kitchen cabinets now have scratch marks from the sponges they used making me so angry and s
I called to complain and was later called back by the director. I asked him to come and see his staffs handy work but he replied that "it would not happen" as he was busy and told me that he was going to call his girls and question them about it. He got back to me saying that my wife had gone round with his girls and appraised everything. What a lie! my wife told them that I would look to see if I was happy with the work. My wife was not happy as they had promised to to all the blinds but guess what...
Obviously he said that his girls had nothing to do with the scratches on my units (how did I know he was going to answer that).
I paid £50 for 3 hours believing that I would receive a professional service.
If you are looking for a good cleaning company and love your home - look elsewhere.
DO NOT USE!!!! The experience we had was lovely customer contact at first, thought they were the answer to our cleaning prayers...good first impression. then a bit of deception (pricing, specifically: asked if the 2 gie=rls and hour woudl be around £15-20 pounds, was told no not nearly that: about £10-12...then estimate bumps it up to £14 per hour but that is NOT for 2 girls it is only for ONE and then billed for £28 per hour!!!!!) , then lots of deception: failed to appear for 3 days in a row (no call, no notification, no email response, claims that she does not check email so need to call, no answer to calls....well, you get the idea....padded timesheets, work not complete (just cklean around things not under) and sent peolpe with zero english that i did not have time to train myself with sign language, and THEN stole a very expensive rug under the guise of taking it dfor cleaning and cannot get it back...today the office played phone games, and another person impersonated the manager and then triewd to cover her tracks but did not realize she was still connected to us....STAY FAR FAR AWAY AND DO NOT USE.
Do not under any circumstances use this company. The service is awful and if you actually have the nerve to complain, you are met with: 'clearly your standards are just to high!'. The 1st time my home was cleaned it was sparkling, once my business was retained it just went downhill from there. Dont believe that the timesheets are correct they are not,as i was concerned i asked my neighbour to keep a eye on when they arrived and left as i was paying for 2hrs, they were there for 40 mins! but billed me for 2&when i rung i was told i must be wrong! I have now gone with Mollymaids and i am delighted with them. Never ever will i use the service or recommend Katie or her Wokingham team to anyone!
Do not use this company. The girls do not fill in their time sheets accurately. The cleaning is substandard. When asked to focus on the kitchen there were marks on the floor and items had not been moved on the work top. Things are not moved just cleaned around. I am still waiting for my deposit and keys to be returned after 4 weeks. You can never speak to the manager he is always out of the office. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
What an awful company. I discontinued using them after poor cleaning and service and they never paid the money back they owed which they took from my card without asking. The twice monthly visit took half the time they said it would and they didn't even touch the dining room! Would never use this company again.
