Hi Brake. Thank you for your reply Since you are privy to statistics etc. Please enlighten us lesser mortals the names of the professional body/bodies to which you refer. As I too in a cumbersome way have researched it and would appreciate if we could compare data. Anecdotal info how many ADIs are trained for Passmasters since their break into NI Market-some 9 months ago. Thank you Black Cat

hi
i would like to take issue with black cat regarding training in n.ireland, if black cat was to ask the trainer what experience he had, then he would have found that the trainer had completed a professional training for teaching adi's in 2003 and has trained many successful adi's to date.if black cat was to take a survey into adi trainers he would find that 95% of trainers do not hold any qualification

To all budding ADIs, I strongly implore you to research other avenues and do not contact this Company. I unfortunately did. I paid £250 and agreed a £2600 balance from Barclays Partner Finance, if not paid within 12 months, the credit charge is a further £2212.84 Office in Northern Ireland is a hired for the day job at Clarendon Docks. I was told they Passmasters were in consultation with the DVA to improve standards here, on contacting the DVA I was assured this was not the case. The local ADI has never taught learner ADIs prior to this, although I now know there are known ADIs in Belfast who teaches ADIS. Its a night mare. How or did anyone get their money back????

Recently informed this company did not wish to continue training with them. Detailed all reasons in a four page letter to them. Awaiting reply. During conversation with them to raise points of concern - the blame for all negative points was out back on me. Customer service zero. They merely want your money and don't care about any issues once they get it.As said in another post - do not touch with a barge pole. Woudl be interested to hear from anyone who has successfully got a refund from them.

I had dealings with this company and handed over £2500. As with other 'customers' when I decided that this was not the correct career choice for me Passmasters sent me a brief letter basically telling me that I did not qualify for a refund. I e-mailed them and pointed out that the law dictates what services do and do not qualify for refunds and it is not up to individual companies to simply say, "sorry, we don't give refunds" and then steal a clients cash!
Not surprisingly Passmasters just ignored me even when I threatened them with court action, presumably because they assumed it was just hot air and that I wouldn't go through with it. Anyway, if you follow this link https://www.moneyclaim.gov.uk and take this company to court to get your money back they will have to pay up, because that's the law!

I had an interview with passmasters last year 2006, I was told at that interview I should attend a day course to see if becoming a driving instructor was the right career move for me, So I went on this course, when I arrived there I signed a form I thought it was just to say I attended there course, At the end of the course I told them it was not for me, It was then they told me it was to late I had signed a credit agreement form for £3000 and that if I do not pay this within 12 months this will turn into £5000. Be warned stay well away from this company. See you in court passmasters

These lot take blagging to a whole new level. My husband paid £2500 for instructor training with these scallies and had the sum total of one half-day induction at one of their training centres. He then decided not to pursue the training, for a number of reasons, so he decided that he'd ask for his money back, less the cost of the induction day and reasonable admin fees.

They are refusing to refund the money (he didn't sign any contracts) because apparently they have 'put an infrastructure in place to train my husband and that costs money' and, the best line of all, their Director reckons he's already had to shell out on 'marketing and advertising costs on behalf of my husband', citing Yellow Pages as one company he's already paid in advance! My husband hasn't even applied to the DSA for registration yet, never mind passed any of the exams needed to become a registrered instructor!

We've contacted our local Trading Standards, who are very interested in our story, but we'll take them to court if we have to.

My advice? Don't touch with a barge-pole.

They do offer you the world, but dont get it. and you get little training, its hard to get booked in for your lessons becausae they take on so many people.

A word of caution to all who are considering giving money to this company, Don't !
They make great sounding promises but fail miserably. I have met 23 other trainees and all heard the same promises, only 1 had recieved them.
My advice is to either tape all conversations, or as a minimum get things written down, before money changes hands.

If your thinking of pursuing a career as a driving instructor for gods sake dont use this company as your training provider. They will take alot of money of you, make alot of promises and ultimately, fail to deliver. BE WARNED. I'd be interested to hear from anyone who's had any dealings with this company.
