Store called me back and said they had viewed the cctv and spoke to staff and that it would not happen again. The member of staff was spoken to and I am told was suprised that her actions were seen as rude. So I feel I have done well raising the issue, as hopefully she will be more careful. We all get frustrated at peoples actions wether we are the helper or being helped. But politeness costs nothing.

I am happy they will resolve the issue, but to behonest will not shop there again. I do worry they the staff who spoke to me on the day were to quick to state they get some rude and abusive customers. I am sure they do and there is no excuse on any side for abuse, but again worried that they label the customer as abusive when not even refering to me. How do I know what happened in a earlier case or on another day. What matters is how I am treat, surely. I am also concerned that a member of staff could not realise what is rude and unacceptable behaviour. Surely they are trained in how to act, maybe not.

But thanks for at least getting back to me, they have to be credited for that. In the meantime I will stay with homebase, cant beat them for helpful staff.

Went into b and q central milton keynes branch. To be fiar the staff on the aisles bent over backeards to explain to me, a diy disaster in the making, the differenc between the upv etc glues and what necessary for window repair.

Got a number of other purchases which over filled trolley and headed to a manned till as there were quite a few small peices and also heavy objects.

A woman approached and asked me to go through the self service till and I said no thanks I would rather stay where I was. The woman in front of me was nearly finished and I was happy to wait a moment as needed help unloading and loading to scan.

She the woman at the self service approached said over here and I said thanks but I am ok. I also said I wasnt paying by card as I wrongly thought you could only use card at self service tills.

Anyhow I again said thanks but no and she got annoyed, slammed her hands in the air and raised her voice, there is simply no helping you. I said I think that was a little rude as I thought you needed a card at that till but in any case is there a problem with me being served here and she said no I was trying to help. I said thanks but I did say I was happy here as needed help with a loaded trolley and dont like the self service tills, often in tesco they charge twice for somehting and then you end up calling for help in any case.

She was annoyed with me and made the whole of the till area aware of her displeasure and rather than leave me alone, carried on about it as she walked off.

Now I admit she did offer to point me to the self service tills, to help I am sure, but with the large ammount of products I had I prefered the large till area and not tiny self service space. I just wanted a human being to help me, which in the end I got.

A lovely woman heared I wasnt happy with being spoke to in that manner and proceded to bill me and I asked could I complain to the manager that this previous woman would not listen to me and take no I am ok for an answer without creating a scene and was told no one available for complaints.

I called and was told they would look into it and get back to me on monday and they didnt, but told accident happened to child of complaint lady child, so fair enought that takes priority and then told would ring back tuesday. I just hope they do.

We all have off days, but why nowadays is no not accepted in anything we do. The line between the customer and seller where both should be respectful and polite seems ofted crossed not only by the occassional miffed customer, but members of staff too.

Very rude to me and no need for it. Should I take my shopping to homebase next time? B and Q please tell me. I have never been belittled or had problems buying there.

To try to stop people suffering as we did:-
We ordered a Cooke and Lewis KD kitchen supply only for our fitter to install. It started with a pallet falling off the lorry then on arrival lots of bits and damaged were missing and took 6 weeks instead of 2 to complete. The staff at our local B & Q had a "could'nt careless attitude" To our many phone calls it was all a nightmare hope they treat there other customers better than the treatment we received.

I only had to say that I am not happy about stock availability in my local store, when ever i go there, they never seem to have what i am looking for.... but i often end up leaving with other items i didn't intend going for!
