update on my query with Goodmans Autos. Showed the Boss the cross threaded pas pump and he gave me a full refund of the parts i had to buy to get the car fixed at another garage.
Great Service, cannot complain, all i wanted was the price of the parts.

took my car to get a new timing belt in 2006 and had to take it back at the end of 2007 because of a bad water pump (dont think they changed it even though i paid for it). now just taken the car in to another garage as the fan belt started to fray. was quoted £50 to fix this. when they started to undo the bolts for the pas pump they found that it had been cross threaded. worst to come. opened up the engine mount and the bolts holding the bracket were also crossed threaded. on undoing the nut for the engine mount the nut underneath that had also been cross threaded. Reason for failure of the belt was that they never put the spacers in on the pas pump. So now having to pay for a new pas pump, new upper engine mount, new tension rollers and spring and some other minor factors were put on wrongly. Total cost for parts was in the region of £600 not including £175 for labour. will be going to see them on Saturday to explain themselves and ask them to pay for the parts. Do NOT LET THEM TOUCH YOUR CAR. Far better going to a franchised dealer as you know your car will be fixed properly.

I went to them to fix my car after being ripped off by another company and they used that to con me again and play the "ooh we'll look after you" when infact all they did was rip me off and then threaten me physically with some "lads" they were going to send to my workplace.
Personally I would rather rip the nails off my fingers with pliers than ever use them again.

Unfixed car, severely out of pocket - never going back there again.

Very unsatisfactory service. Avoid these guys if you want your car fixed.
