My freind bought Man Utd v West Ham (May 2007) tickets for 2 on October 2006, for my birthday. She was promised they will be delvered week before the games, and obviously we did not recieve it and I missed the game, spent £40 on travel to Manchester which I lost. We phoned them so many times and they said they will send us a refund and obviosuly they didnt give a penny back. This went on for months and months, we tried to get advice from Office of Fair Trading, but they didnt really help. So we were stuck.
I filed an application for this to go on WATCHDOG 2 TIMES but they did'nt even reply so we really are stuck. Does anyone have any advice of what to do or had anyone taken actionb against them?
DON'T USE THIS COMPANY!! I purchased RWC tickets last year to a value in excess of £2500 - they never turned up. When I phoned for my refund, the refund was being processed, then the cheque was awaiting signing, then the cheque was in the mail - nothing has turned up! I have send various requests for payment - all returned to sender. I did get mail through to their accountants and to the director but have heard nothing from them. Their details can be got from the companies house website. I have now filed a small claims court request but reading the comments on this site I don't like my luck. BBC WatchDog is next... Maybe we should take out a full page front cover add in the Times or something...
My uncle purchased 6 tickets through hertsboxoffice.co.uk for the Cheltenham Festival. The price of the tickets was almost £200. Firstly, the tickets never ever arrived and then it turns out that the event was cancelled on the day he was meant to be going due to the high winds. Both my uncle and I have phoned and emailed countless times and have never had a response from them. I have just sent a letter to them recorded delivery asking for the money to be refunded and after checking track and trace on Royal Mails website, the item is being returned to sender due to them being unable to deliver the item. I did this on the advice of Trading Standards. Where we go from here I dont know...... It makes me sick that these people are still being allowed to operate !!
I "bought" two carling cup final tickets off this lot 2 years ago (Man Utd v Wigan). I paid just short of £500.
Tickets never arrived. I emailed, phoned more times than i care to mention got nowhere.
Took them through the small claims court - was awarded judgement - sent baliffs who recovered nothing - they trade from a rented office and there is nothing of value for a baliff to collect.
Purchased four front third tickets to see the Spice Girls concert at the O2 on 12th January 08 in November last year. Received a confirmation letter the next day via special delivery confirming my purchase and was advised that the tickets would be with me about seven days before the concert.
Four days before the concert I had still not received the tickets so I sent an email asking if the tickets had been despatched. I didnt get a reply.
I began ringing the company three days before the concert but out of what must have been 150 attempted calls from four people over the space of three days, only once did anyone answer. They took our name and reference number and said their computers were down and that they would find the paper copy of our order and ring us back. We never received the call back.
The day of the concert came and we couldn't go due to not having the tickets. They were supposed to be given as Christmas presents but we were seriously let down. Luckily we managed to get hold of two tickets from somewhere else for the concert the next day.
We began ringing on the monday to see what had happened and what they were going to do about it.
We got through first time and the man who answered said he was the manager and had been away for a few days and that our tickets had been sent but there a problem with the post. He said we could either have tickets for a new date or we could have a full refund. We asked for a full refund and he said that the money would be back in my account within three working days.
Three working days went by and nothing had gone back in my account so we rang back. We spoke to the same man who said that there had been a problem with the system used to refund money and that if I gave him my accout details he would do a direct refund into my account. We did not trust him with this so we said no.
He said he would sent a cheque via special delivery and asked if we had a fax number so he could send a copy of the cheque (we are sure he was expecting us to say no but luckily enough we have got a fax number). He sent the fax of the cheque and then the tracking number for the special delivery letter.
When we received the cheque the written amount in letters was for a different amount than the amount written in numbers.
We rang back and he said that he would send a new cheque via special delivery but we decided to attempt to cash the cheque anyway.
This morning the full refund went back into my account.
We had to make numerous calls to Herts Box Office over the last two weeks. Numberous calls to the bank and Trading Standards and have had a nightmare two weeks thanks to Herts Box Office.
I strongly advise NOT to use this company as they let us down and although we got a full refund it appears we were one of the lucky ones who have actually received it.
I am due to see the Spicxe Girls tomorrow and i have not heard anything, got no tickets and no-one at the alledged office is picking up the phone.
I received an email at 12.51pm saying that the tickets would be with me at 1pm royal mail special delivery. I have asked for the tracking number and i havent heard anything as yet.
Awful company! so dissapointed! Guy who answers phone doesn't tell the truth! We rang after tickets did not arrive 'special delivery'. He said he would get on to it! Rang the royal mail to see if they were able to tell me where my tickets were. They said i needed a tracking number, rang 'herts box office'- the guy refused to give a tracking number, said he would phone back when he knew where they were. By this point it was obvious that there were no tickets. The guy is odd, rang back asking me how many tickets we needed, saying he would ring back in 10 mins. He didn't and by this point had spoke to trading standards, found this website. Decided to ring him and ask if he was legitmate, he continued to tell me he was trying to find tickets. Then admitted over the phone the tickets were not real. Countless 'stories' from one man! Don't use this company!
Bought tickets in March for Take That. Concert date of 24/11/07 came and went and no tickets arrived. Have been told that I would receive a full refund and I am still waiting! Contact Consumer Direct and then Trading Standards if this happens to you. This company has had my money since March, did not have the tickets in the first place and are not reliable enough to give a refund!! This should be illegal!!
I brought 3 tickets for Bruce Springsteen at the 02 Arena last August for the 19th December 2007 costing £525, I was told the tickets would be with me 7 days before the concert. They didnt arrive so when I phoned a few days before the concert, i was told they had be let down by their distributor and the money would be refunded within 3 working days. Im still waiting and they are impossible to get hold of now. I have their address in Cambridge so might go up there. I Will also be writing to Watchdog, Complaints Commission and Trading Standards.
Herts Box office Please DONT be fooled as I was with anything this company of jokers tell you. They will take your money but are not going to give you what you ask for. They will promise tickets, people meeting you with tickets, refunds, none of which will come. I have written to Watchdog and am going to make it my business to give as much bad publicity to these money making sharks as possible
I purchased tickets last month having already received a refund from another ticket site that could no longer supply. I was keen to know if the tickets might get cancelled again so I called the number on my confirmation e-mail. No answer. I suspected the worst. After reading your reviews it looks like I won't be receiving these tickets (£250). Too late to cancel the transaction. I have to wait for June 2008 to see if my nightmares come true. I did manage to get hold of a guy from Herts BO. Tickets will be posted 2 weeks before the concert apparently. I certainly won't be waiting for this to happen and will drive to the premises to collect. If I had read these reviews before I wouldn't have used this site. Lets hope I get to see the concert!
I wonder if anyone has actually managed to get their money back from them via the court? I'm in the proess of taking them to the small claims court for non delivery of tickets, but as I have no confirmed adress for them I'm worried I'm wasting my time and money if they can't be traced anyway. Any advice or knwledge on how to get to them would be greatly appreciated. We have to put a stop to this!
I bought tickets from this so called company in January. I paid £398 for two tickets to see Take That this Saturday at the Dome 02. Surprise, surprise, I have not received the tickets, and have almost given up hope of receiving them. My daughter is heartbroken, and I am nearly £400 out of pocket. Is there no way that lying cheating con men like these people can be stopped?
i ordered my TAKE THAT tickets, back in april, at a cost of £193.00, for friday 16th nov 2007.
I recieved the same treatment as most of you guys,
i phoned a week before to see where my tickets where, and was told they would be sent recorded delivery. My tickets still hadn't turned up by the wednesday and so i phoned again, to be told, they would phone me back tomorrow with details for collecting them from the venue, nobody phoned, and nobody would answer my call either.
On the friday of the concert i got my husband to phone, at this point i had had enough, he managed to get a number to phone to meet a guy call gregory at the venue, we tried this number striaght away, didn't work, so phoned herts back up, they had given us two digits backwards, we got in touch with gregory, who said when we arrive at the venue to call, and hung up on us.
We had no times to meet him, so we phoned back, he was very rude and said, stop bothering me I'm a very busy man, and still would not give us a time.
We decided to leave early for the venue, when we got there we parked up and went to the box office, and phoned gregory, we nearly fell through the floor when he answered and said yes i can see you and waved us over.
My story had a ok ending, the seats weren't the best, but at least i got to go to the concert.
we believe that if we hadn't got to the box office so early we too would have been disappointed, we arrived at about 5pm.
Personally, i would never order from herts again, and deffently do not recommend them to anyone else.
BEWARE OF HERTS BOX OFFICE!!! A biggest nightmare just come true - two days before the England - Croatia match and 2 tickets which I paid for two months ago are nowhere to be seen. So I rand Herts B.O. up and after numerous unsuccesfull call someone called Jonathan Edison (so he says) answered. Asked what's happening, he put me on hold for 5 mins, then said the agent let them down so no tickets available. He claimed he sent me a cheque for £358 which I paid on Friday by 1st class - but guess what, still don't have it by Mon. He said if it doesn't arrive tomorrow to ring him and he'll write a new one, YEAH RIGHT!!! So I rang Trading Standards (TS), reported them, they advised to wait, by law, for 30 days, then write them recorded delivery complaint, wait 14 days and then TS will demand the money back. I don't think I'll ever see my £358 back so will go to Citizens Advice Bureau and ring BBC Watchdog. By the looks of it they've been illegaly operating for over a year and no one is stopping them. SO LET'S DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT AND TAKE THEM DOWN!!!!
Another person ripped off - tickets booked in June for Take That on Saturday 17th Nov at NEC. £300 paid for 2 tickets, supposedly in great seats. Tried to contact the company during the week running up, was assured that tickets would be sent out following day. Rang again next day, was informed that tickets would now not be sent out due to risk of not getting through the post quickly enough. Was given a name GREGORY and a mobile phone number to ring, he would there on the night to hand out the tickets. Had a bad feeling about this! Got there Saturday night only to find several other people waiting for the same guy. NO SHOW. Had been trying this mobile number since lunchtime, it either couldn't accept the call or had been turned off. I was one of the fortunate ones and managed to get another two tickets on the night AT FACE VALUE (£50 each) but I know that lots missed out. When you're travelling from different parts of the country that you've paid for and have paid and organised accommodation this is no joke.
Complete cowboys - DO NOT USE THIS AGENT!!!
herts box office have caused me the worst night of my life after paying £140.00 a ticket x 3 i was praying that all the bad storys i had read, oh i read the bad storys after i had payed for my tickets or else i would not be trying to warn other people today cause i would of avoided them completley, i was praying the things i read were just a few bad storys, but no no no they were all true because for the last 2 weeks iv been fobbed off by the company herts box office assuring me i would get my tickets and then the day before STILL NO TICKETS. i was convinced it was not going to happen. he tried to reasure me on the phone and said i had to ring once i arrived at the arena at 7pm i had to call greg on 07850090473 how dodgy is that well i carried on, the night before praying it would be all ok i even called the make belive greg up and he answered the phone which i was shocked at, i asked him what time to meet him he sounded so convincing.he arranged the time and place what a fool was i. you guessed it no show waiting to see Take That on friday the 16th of november 2007 i was there at 7pm like arranged no show, no answer of his phone i cant belive me and my two friends had belived this company we was not alone as many others were all standing there all calling the same person greg mr no show, it was all a big set up and my self and my friends and all the other people stood there watching every one entering the venue it was freezing and we stood there over an hour and half it was nearly 9 0 clock and we stood praying he would answer his phone or turn up but he did not. i have emailed the company and i will be giving them a call first thing monday morning but i cant see me getting any where i am involving trading standards and i intend to call my credit card company. this company should not be aloud to continue ripping people off DO NOT BUY OFF THEM IT IS ALL A BIG JOKE TO THEM THEY HAVE NO INTENTION OF SENDING YOU ANY TICKETS ! ! ! !
NEVER EVER EVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel like I have been completely ripped off. I ordered 2 tickets from them in March for Take That in Birmingham. It got to 2 weeks before the concert and they had not arrived so I telephoned the office, and was answered by a man who just said "hello" not stating any company name., and was told that my tickets would be delivered by recorded del on 14/11/07 by 1pm. I therefore took the day off work to wait in, and needless to say no tickets arrived. I telephoned again only to be told that there had been a change of plan and that i would have to collect at the venue. Feeling a bit suspiscious i telephoned NEC to find out if this was normal practise. They told me that they had never heard of Herts box office and they would not have any tickets there. I rang Herts again and explained what NEC had said and was spoken to like i was about 5 years old and didn't understand anything and was told a rep would meet me at the arena, I was not happy with this at all as paying £270 for 2 tickets that had not turned up had made my blood boil. After continuos arguments I agreed to meet the guy, granted he was there when I arrived but then he told me he didn't have the tickets with him and was waiting for them to be brought from his hotel (ARRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!) this was 20mins before the start of the concert. The guy (Greg) had made numerous attempts to move away from me and out of my sight but I followed and watched every step he took, eventually after about 15 mins (and when no one had been anywhere near him) he pulled 2 tickets from his bag and handed them to me, it didn't end there, I had paid for 3rd row seats and ended up stuck on the back row in the top corner behind the stage with severly resticted viewing, he told me I had misunderstood and it was not 3rd row but the front 3rd of the orditorium. Needless to say I am now persuing them for compensation and would advise anybody thinking of booking through these con artists to think again, as they are purely ticket touts conning innocent people out of their hard earned cash. DON'T TRUST ANYTHING THEY SAY !!!!
I have had a similar experience with tihs company as everyone else here. At the moment I'm looking in to taking them to court to claim back my expenses for non-delivered tickets. Has anyone here taken it that far and if so what was the outcome of it?
Rang Herts Box Office the Wednesday of the week before my concert and told that my Leeds Festival 07 ticket was to be posted that day. Rang Friday and told the ticket HAD BEEN SENT by registered post.
Rang Wednesday before the gig and told ticket was sent by regular post, and someone would ring us about meeting us at the venue on Friday with a ticket. No one rang.
Rang Thursday and explained firstly to someone who just said 'yeah what??' very rudely and then put the phone down on me. Rang back and was put on to someone else who gave me a number for a guy who would 'be at the venue'.
Texted guy about this, he rang and told me he WOULDN'T be at the venue but
in a pub five miles away. I said this was completely unacceptable and he
said he'd get someone to the venue.
Rang Herts Box Office back and said I've been hearing conflicting reports
and wanted assurance that if/when this guy didn't turn up we would get a
full refund. Said that we had paid £240 for this and received nothing and
he said, "oh dear...have you?" sarcastically.
Continued saying that I would be expecting a refund if we did not receive
our ticket and was curtly told to 'stop my moaning', asked me 'could we not
have this conversation pleeease' and told me he would be expecting me to
ring back and apologise when we received our ticket. I am absolutely horrified
to say the least. I told him it was a complete cowboy outfit, that I was
horrified and would be reporting them to trading standards.
On the day of the gig contacted the man 'at the venue' and told to ring a different number. Attempted to contact with no luck. No ticket...no gig. Have now emailed Herts Box Office demanding a refund. I will not stop until I am fully refunded for my loss. Never use Herts Box Office. Your ticket WILL NOT ARRIVE.
Due to leaving everything to the last minute, i couldn't get a T in the Park ticket from Ticketmaster, so decided to go through a tout..BIG MISTAKE!! ESPECIALLY THROUGH THIS COMPANY!
I bought one for way over face value, and it came to the week of T in the Park and no ticket, when every legit ticket was sent out weeks before. I called and called and e-mailed and I got told i would recieve the ticket on the friday morning! I was leaving early on the Friday, before the post arrived anyway! Thankfully, i managed to get a ticket through a friend who had decided not to go..The ticket never came from this so-called ticket office.
It's a shame that they have absolutely nothing better to do than con innocent people. Its pretty pathetic actually. Thankfully, i got refunded through the type of credit card i used so i got every single penny back! Which was good!
NEVER EVER EVER USE THIS SITE! YOU WILL NEVER RECIEVE WHAT YOU ORDER! The guy is a loser...
Paid for 2 tickets on 1st June 2007 for the Prince concert on 4th August at the 02 arena.
Phoned Herts Box Office on Friday 27th July
Was told very dismissively that tickets are being sent out now. Asked for the name of rude person..Oliver White..was not asked for my name or details
Phoned again on Monday 30th Julysaid I was concerned as there was a postal strike
âÂ?¢ Again rudely dismissed. Told that ‘we know there is a strikeâÂ?¦don’t worry your tickets have gone out and will arrive’
Phoned on Thursday 2nd August
âÂ?¢ Was now told that tickets ‘have not been sent because of the postal strike’ Herts Box Office will call tomorrow to advise on arrangements for venue collection
Phoned on Friday 3rd August
âÂ?¢ Did not receive phone call. Again rude person said I would get a call in ‘1 hour’âÂ?¦3 hours later still no call
Phoned again to be told that the tickets were lost in the post and they would kindly arrange for a refundno apology. When I said I was very disappointed and appalled at the service and asked to speak to the Manager..operative said he was the manager and that I was a very petty little mansaid his name was Jaimie Adams
So now I wait for the refund £205...and missed the concert which was a surprise birthday present
Do not use this trader. Their service is appalling.
I ordered tickets in May to see Bon Jovi at the O2 arena at a price significantly higher than face value.
I waited till the week before the concert but hadn't received any tickets, so on the Weds contacted Herts Box Office. I ended up speaking to an very impolite person who told me my tickets were being sent in the next few days and would arrive by Friday. Despite asking him several times why they hadn't been sent he wouldn't answer.
As Friday was the last day they were contactable before the concert and the tickets hadn't arrived, I had to pop home from work at lunchtime to find out if the tickets were there. I got home and they weren't so I called up Herts Box Office who told me that the more expensive tickets had arrived late and asked if I wanted them sent next day delivery so they would arrive on the Saturday before the concert. On no occasion so far had they attempted to contact me to inform me the tickets were late.
I waited in on Saturday, and contacted the post office to find out what the latest time the tickets would arrive, which was 1pm. It got to 12pm and no tickets had arrived. Luckily some more cheaper tickets came up for sale on ticketmaster so I brought these.
Surprisingly no tickets arrived by 1pm. Fortunately I still got to go to the concert and had a great time with cheaper tickets and better seats.
On the Monday I contacted Herts Box Office to find out what had happened. They told me they had tried to contact me and that they were looking into what had happened. They agreed to issue me a refund in 5 working days, but again I got the impression that they would not have acted had I not contacted them.
A week and a half later no refund. I chased them again and was told that they had made a mistake and that they had missed my refund from the refund pile and that it would be processed. A week later I got my refund.
Do not use this company, they are useless. Everything was bad - poor service, high prices and misleading over whether they actually have the tickets.
I hope this feedback is helpful - I wish I'd seen the feedback before I went ahead but I was desperate to see the concert. And ensure you pay by credit card and that you are paying directly to Herts Box Office. I think provided its not Switch, this should allow you to reclaim your money via the credit card company if you don't receive any tickets.
I booked tickets for Justin Timberlake 2 weeks before the concert after getting bored of being outbid on e-bay. I received a confirmation booking fairly promptly, but by the monday before the concert I was slightly concerned that the tickets had not arrived. So I took to find out more info. on Herts Box Office and when I found this site my concerns grew !
After doing some investigating I found out that they have an office in Hertford, local to me. So I paid them a visit, they told me that tickets were being dispatched by S. Delivery from their Harlow office that day. I still wasn't happy, as why would a fairly small outfit have offices in Harlow & Hertford (about 8 miles apart)?. Harlow is a Mail Address in the local Sainsburys
Anyway after a lot of chasing and grief from the "Mrs", the tickets were finally delivered to me by them on Saturday morning (day of the concert). Half decent tickets (double the face value, but then I expect firms to make money) and we really enjoyed the concert !
I can not say for sure that I would have got the tickets without my persistence and I'm forunate that I live locally ! just relieved that I'm not having to chase this week for my moneyback
