I'm so angry, I purchased 3 x tickets for Meat Loaf appearing at the MEN in Manchester on the 10th May from those robbing sods at Tickettout.com. Tried to contact them today as tickets hadn't arrived only to find the company have gone bust. The tickets were a special treat for my daughter who graduated last year. We booked the day off work, reserved a table at a nice restaurant to finish a great evening watching Meat Loaf. Paid by Debit Card so my chances of getting anything back is probalby nil. I will certainly try the chargeback as paid with Visa card via the Abbey as per the advice below (thanks for that). Last time I buy tickets online.

£95 for tickets to Al Green at Royal Festival Hall in June. Present for my music mad husband. Not enough to get anywhere with credit card refund. Paid this on 14 Feb. They must have known they were bust but still collected my money!Gutted.

i paid for two download festival tickets off my debit cardcosting £300. I am in college and so can only work weekends. I paid on my debit card and it seems there's not much i can do about it. Any one got any more info. ive already called the number which was pretty useless and i have no cover on my card.

I'm absolutely shocked that this has been allowed to happen. My husband booked tickets 2 see Lionel Richie in Cardiff, should be there dancing on the ceiling as i write this complaint. Gutted does'nt even come close to what we're feeling, we've lost £250. I only hope the people at the root of this can sleep soundly at night.

Have just re-read some posts and see that actually some people have received letters from the Receivers. Please can you confirm that you have a letter addressed to you personally telling you that you will not get tickets or a refund? As I stated before, I have been told that I (and "everyone") will have to wait 2 months before I can expect to receive such a letter in order to try to claim my money back.

I bought 8 tickets to see Muse at Wembley in June the night before the tickets went on general sale. I paid £45 each, which I didn't consider a bad price at the time. Total £375.

I must admit that I was a bit dubious about the company, having been told there had been something on Watchdog just the week before about rogue ticket agents, but the website was so legit looking wasn't it? I was then appalled to find this blagger the week after when it was too late to cancel the purchase.

It was no suprise to find out on Friday on here that they are now insolvent but sickening all the same. I took money from 6 friends and have been wondering how to tell them that they have lost their money. Let alone that they won't now be seeing Muse.

I just wanted to let you know that, for those who, like me, thought that all was lost because they paid by debit card and not credit card, please check with your bank because all may not be lost. I found a newspaper article on a related link and it stated that:

There may be ways for those who paid by debit card to get a refund. Some Visa debit card providers offer protection to customers. Alternatively, your bank may be able to go to the bank that dealt with Ticket Tout's card transactions and request the money back. This is known as "chargeback".

I checked with my bank and they confirmed that I have card protection as part of my current account package. They even asked whether Tickettout was the company concerned. I was told to send a copy of the letter from Tickettout informing me that I would not be getting either tickets or a refund and they would "create my case". When I asked the likelihood of getting my money back I was told it shouldn't be a problem.

On the downside, I phoned the receivers on the helpline and was told that personal letters would not be going out to customers for another 2 months, which I said was unacceptable. However, the person I spoke to said that the print-out of the letter on www.insolvencynoticeboard.co.uk may suffice.

I also told them about this and that they shouldn't tell debit card payers that all is lost when it might not be.

I wish you all luck.

I am still hoping to go to the concert .... somehow

I recently used the email address that is supplied and also, the email address from the confirmation i received via email...both of them are not recognised and so looks like this was all a big farce.

 beckytaylor144 at 21st Mar 2007, 11:33AM
i bought 2 tickets for the view in birmingham for april 17th. i was told by tickettout that i'd get the tickets a month before the concert. i didnt recieve anything so i went to look on the net for a number i could ring to ask about my tickets and i stumbled across this website. i couldnt believe it when i read that they have ripped so many people off. so i rang up tickettout to see if i was gonna recieve any tickets and they blatently just said no and il get no refund. what a complet joke i cant believe they can get away with it.

I ordered and paid for tickets to see My Chemical Romance in March.I got concerned when they hadn't arrived and emailed them. Two days later I received a letter saying they had gone into liquidition and would not receive my money or tickets. It's disgusting, the company are ripping people off and nothing can be done.

 coralie at 16th Mar 2007, 10:53AM
There was an article in today's Daily Mirror which claims that Michael Rangos from the closed down company Getmetickets is linked to www.tickettout.com

It would appear that He has been selling tickets since www.tickettout.com was closed down.
Was this tickettout stock that he was selling after it went into administration?

I decided to order 2 tickets on the 9th december for the Faithless concert on the 28th March 2007 as a christmas present for my boyrfriend. I was finding it hard to find tickets and finally decided to book with Titckettout, despite having to pay such a high price. I ended up paying £165 plus £5 delivery Charge. I finally received a confirmation letter at the end of January but it never said when these tickets would be delivered. I emailed them last week and never got a reply. Then on Saturday 10th March i receive a letter, which didn't look like a real professional letter saying they have gone into liquidation and that it's unlikely i will be getting the tickets nor will i be getting a refund.

I think it's absolutly disgusting, £170 isn't something i had lying around. I work hard for my money and to have it just stolen from you is not on. Not only that but my boyfriend had been really looking forward to the concert. He's waited 3 months for a christmas present that he won't be getting. It's actually quite embarrasing. I don't even have any money to go and buy more tickets else where.

Since Yesterday we have been trying to call the number on the letter and have had no luck. You wait in a long que and then when your about to go through you get 'cut off'. My boyfreind called Valentine & co, the accountant company, they weren't very helpful at all, they said they couldn't do anything about it and that we had to keep calling that number they give in the letter.

I won't be backing down and i'm determined to get a refund. Wish me luck

I bought 2 tickets to see OMD on May 16th in Liverpool, booked the tickets with ticket-tout and waited for them to arrive. Nearly 2 weeks later still no tickets but as the concert wasn't for a couple a months, wasn't too worried, still, i phoned them anyway to see where the tickets were. The response i got was "they haven't been printed yet"...eh i thought, how can they debit my bank account for something they haven't physically got yet? i started to get a bad feeling, but i gave them the benefit and thought stupidly, that they would still send them. Then guess what i heard on BBC Radio yesterday that the "company" had gone into administration...what a bunch of robbing scum. This means that me and many other unfortunate people were promised tickets that they damn well knew wouldn't be sent...do not use this company and for god's sake check the small print on any future web-sites bearing a similar style to ticket tout.

 Elembee at 13th Mar 2007, 12:54PM
I bought tickets from this company on 2/12/2006 for my 15 year old son to go and see My Chemical Romance play at wembley on 29/3/2007. This was going to be part of his christmas present as a surprise. These 2 tickets cost me £95.00. They charged my credit card and i constantly had to phone them (which isnt easy when the phone just constantly rings)to ask them to send me some sort of receipt of payment and confirmation so i could put this in a card for my son on christmas day. Eventually about 3 days before christmas i received the confirmation telling me tickets would arrive approx 2 weeks before concert.
Now on Saturday 10/3/2007 i receive a letter (which didnt even look real) to say the company had gone into receivership and there would be no tickets and more than likely no refund.
Is this legal that a company sell something they are not even in possesion of. They have done nothing more than taken my hard earned money and absolutly devasted my son.
I am more than sure that these kind of companies will start up again and again in some other name and do exactly the same thing and make a huge profit from other peoples misery!!!!! I will most certainly be looking!!!

 dayj123 at 13th Mar 2007, 11:47AM
I completely agree with Del1872

When I was informed, 30 minutes before the Kaisers concert that I wouldn't be getting my tickets the woman on the phone blatantly lied about my refund.

She then also lied that I would receive the My Chemical Romance tickets I had also booked. When I challenged her about the integrity of the company she became very irate that I had dared to question her honesty.

Perhaps its naivety or just misplaced faith but I am shocked that this company has been able to do this to an alledged 7000 people.

Rot in jail? No, unfortunately these people are more than likely doing exactly the same thing under another guise while we're all left to lick our wounds and try to recover our lost, hard earned cash.

 wendytr at 13th Mar 2007, 10:55AM
spent £135 on 2 tickets to see The Who at Royal Albert Hall only to find out last Saturday that they have gone into receivership and I would not receive. The phone number they give you as a helpline is a non-starter.

 mcd at 13th Mar 2007, 09:22AM
This company are an utter DISGRACE!!!

Bought 2 T in the Park tickets at a cost of £295 and they took the money on 27 February, about 1 week later they went into administration!!

I am absolutely devastated and would personally like the owners to rot in jail!!

Tickettout.com
Got a letter yesterday to say they have gone into administration and indicating that creditors will get nothing.
I have confirmation letter with actual seat details from them after I bought Il Divo tickets as a Christmas gift for my 90-year-old parents.
Spoke to the theatre concerned and a staff member said Tickettout had probably sold tickets they didn't yet have and that they had previously operated as Getmetickets and done the same thing to customers (I don't know if that's right or not but I am really disgusted).

 blackeyetwo at 11th Mar 2007, 11:25PM
Spent £295, received a letter from the new administrators advising of my status as a creditor. It actually uses the term "vast" to describe the number of people expecting tickets. The letter calmly explains that there's no chance of tickets, and no chance of refund due to Tickettout's insolvency. My only recourse is to hope I'm covered with purchase protection through Lloyds TSB on the debit card I used to purchase the tickets, although I will have to speak to them to see if I can do this...

 philth at 11th Mar 2007, 01:36PM
Have lost £235 and Isle of Wight Festival tickets, no replies to calls or emails, recieved official letter informing me that they have gone into administration :-(

 tinks at 11th Mar 2007, 09:04AM
My friend orderd 5 tickets to go see Dolly Parton and today she had a letter saying they had gone bust and there was no way of getting there money back!! seen a few sites like this sounds like it has happend to a few people! something needs to be done about these cons!

 Betty111 at 10th Mar 2007, 08:56PM
what a shambles paid £400 for weekend camping tickets for t in the park. i received a confermation email and reference number as normal when shopping over the internet but i became suspicious when they did not bill me for about 2 - 3 weeks, i then did a little research into this company and discovered they were very shady indeeed, before i could take any action with my benk to cancel this payment they billed me on monday the 5th of march, then went into reciecvership on the 6th of march, a totall and blatent fraud. i payed by debit card so my back says they provide protection for debit cards (thanks very much bank)

 gangofgin0 at 10th Mar 2007, 05:02PM
I have recieved today a letter from 'Valentine & Co'(Official Chartered Accountants) stating that Tickettout have gone into recievership. The £235 we saved for ages, for the IOW Festival will not be refunded and there is no chance of getting tickets. They are the same company as Get-me-the-ticket.net (think thats right) who went bust last year. I have contacted IOW Festival organisers Solo Productions, but have heard nothing yet.
The phone line and website set up for tickettout is not available yet, but.... i visited the ticketout website and you can still purchase tickets from them, so far as i was asked to enter my card details!!!!! Extremely dissapointed and very broke now.

 tinks at 10th Mar 2007, 04:17PM
I have had exactly the same thing happen except they only got £55 pound out of me for buying 2 tickets to see Placebo at the Coronet.

The best thing for people to do is phone up consumer direct, they have been extremly helpful and have been able to give me the address of the new admins..
We already know that no one is going to get any tickets but if complaints are made there might be a chance we can get refunds!!!
