This Company is called us and asked us to advertise in an Indian Restaurant menu last December. We paid £250 for the advertisement and it was never produced. We wasn't informed it wasn't produced and when we found that the restaurant has actually closed down we were still told outright that we are not getting a refund as there is a new restaurant opening there any they are taking over the contract. We did not agree to this, we want a full refund and was told there is NO CHANCE... We was told by the rep that the menu was being printed that week and the artwork was on deadline ! Funny that it never got printed huh ? We are currently talking to the FSB and are taking legal action. DO NOT TRADE WITH THESE PEOPLE
Hi
I am sorry that I am not the only one been caught by these people. I have been communicating for over 6 moths now and it appears lost my money. All the promises of incentives were false, the advert was never distributed and the worst part of all was my only force of revenge was to spend as much time as possible put people off using our small local restaurant who are as much to blame using these amateurs.
If anybody has any advice it would be much appreciated. If a small Company like myself and considering using DSM Media please dont
Quality Vision (DSM Media Ltd) have written to us. They have stated they will not honour what the sales representative told us regarding payment terms nor will they cancel the contract. Quality Vision have made a revised offer on the payment terms but it is still contrary to what the sales representative told us. We signed based on the payment terms offered by the sales representative.
We also have been sold advertising wrongly. for a start it is a 2 year contract we were not told this, and the restaurant in question probably wont be there in 2 years. It was sold with a discount card which again the restaurant does not have to honor. Could we not all get a file going at their local trading standards?
Well, to follow up. In the last few days we have consulted a contract solicitor and he has confirmed the contract was, in the very least, actually misrepresented on at least two counts; including advert length and payment terms. We wrote to Quality Vision (DSM Media Ltd) and asked to have the contract cancelled. They refused. They have admitted the contract was wrong on one count (the advert length) and have offered to change only that. We were induced into signing the contract based on what was said to us by the sales representative, this included the payment terms. They so far refuse to honour what their sales representative stated regarding payment terms or to terminate the contract.

Good news from my point of view - I received a phone call from the General Manager who has been very helpful, cancelled the contract, refunded my deposit and advised me that the sales group in question are to be retrained! I will still be very wary of such advertising in the future but at least DSM have managed to sort it out.
Watch them! I am currently taking legal advice and gathering information about DSM Media Ltd as I believe them miss-sold me a contract. They exercise paltering and evasion techniques very well indeed, obviously well practiced. They seem to be gathering quite a reputation for themselves.
We had a very similar experience to mikedavis to advertise in a restaurant menu. The salesman completely misrepresented the arrangement and left us with a very expensive 2 year contract. The company have been extremely obstinate and threatened to place the advert against our wishes! Be very careful when dealing with these people.
The sign of a good company is not that they don't make mistakes, but that they make every effort to put right mistakes they have made.
After the managing director was made aware of my complaint, he contacted me personally and immediately, apologised and sent me a cheque straight away for a full refund.
It seems that the lower members of staff had simply not dealt with the complaint correctly, but the MD could not have been nicer. They have gone right back up in my estimation.
Watch these people. They are also trading as Quality Vision Ltd, and have a website at qualityvision.co.uk. I signed up for one of their screen advertising packages, and so far, I've only seen the screen on for less than a third of the times I called to the various shops. Anytime I contact them, they are rarely available, and I can never get a straight answer out of them. Needless to say, they will not give me my money back, so I've resorted to contacting other people advertising on their screens to warn them. Rotten people.
They sent a sales rep around who got an office temp to sign as the owner. Very abusive phone calls and letters for advertising on a menu! I have reported them to Trading Standards
