I have just been told by PHS that I am tied into another three years with them due to their 'rolling contracts'. I was horrified as they are an absolute nightmare with constantly rising prices and unexpected charges for things I wasn't aware they were going to charge for eg. administration charges and waste disposal certificates etc. I was looking forward to being rid of them, not expecting to have to be paying them for another three years! I will be very happy to challenge them in court if anyone else would join me as I feel that they are loading their contracts too much in their own favour.
We have been stuck with this vile company with it's arrogant and rude staff for three years. The costs have risen dramatically without notice to us. A letter to terminate the contract (which we haven't renewed - they have not forwarded any paper work either) and they state they didnt receive the notice, yet I have a letter statting they needed three months notice. I was then told that we were in breach of contract, they will take us to court etc., Has anybody had the same experience and do we get together to urge some professional body to act for us as they are getting away with this threatening behaviour and malpractice. I presume those who rate them with a 0,1,2,3 are the company staff who must be writing on this site!
Mine is a familiar story, absolute nightmare with PHS WASTECH, charged £25 for them to send me a letter, £148 admin charges, and bin lift charges way above estimate, and so on. Can anyone out there tell me if their cases have gone as far as court, im being threatened and want any info posible that can help. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

Been with them for 1 year, intially £45 pm but now increased to £83 plus £122.20 administration charge per year!!
Wanted to cancelled contract but was refused as we notified them in writing a month after the first year's contract. We are told that we must complete another full years contract.
The only communications from Wastech was increasing invoices - without explainations for increases, e.g we are now charged £5 plus VAT per month because their "bins are old and needs replacing" across the country!! Only found out when phoned to query.
Very rude staff if you challenge them on any issues or require clarification on anything. They do not respond to letters!
If anyone know how we can get out of the 2nd year's rolling contract please please let me know!
Called pretending to be a potential customer. Their quote was £36 pcm for a 660L or £40 PCM for a 1100L bin in the Manchester and warrington area. When probe further the sales person said the price will change after 6 months. When asked if this was likely to be higher and also if their existing customers pay more than new the sales person hanged up the phone!!!!!!!!!!
AVOID WASTECH AT ALL COST. A TRULY "RUBBISH" COMPANY!!!
OK,this company recently took over most waste disposal in Wirral,buying out my last contractors.We got a new fancy certificates.and of course,it comes with a fancy new price system, which i dont agree with.
So i spoken to one of their advisers,he did say if i wanted to cancel their services,it will be a phone call away.So i did what he said.and they still havent cancelled anything.
Then i written a letter to them,with a recorded delivery.they still havent replied,after 2 months!!
Now for 3 months of emptying my bin,they sent me a bill for £378.53.With a letter,warning of service suspension warning!!
They charge you £126 per month,to empty the bins,plus £75 charge of care of duty,which most disposal companies charges 10p a day.
I have rang them after that,they said i was under contract,which i wasnt!!their next move was getting me a cheaper lift to £7.50 per lift,which i wasnt interested.and now they wanted to suspend my services.I WAS THE ONE WHO WANTED THEM OUT.OVER £1200 TO EMPTY THE BINS A YEAR IS A JOKE.
THIS COMPANY IS A JOKE .i will be making them a call on tuesday,and let see the outcome of this,I am sick of tired of this company,If they done what they said I wouldnt be here compalining about them.RUBBISH TO PHS WASTETECH!!
