For those of you out there who are still trying to get your money back don't give up!! Write to your Credit Card Company and give them the details of the transaction. I did and within a week was informed my account will be credited with the £110 I had paid. This experience has certainly taught me a lesson. Don't part with your cash unless the payment receipt is controlled by the likes of Paypal or Sagepay etc.
I paid for two pair of boots in Sept 09...had not received any boots by Nov so chased. I did actually get to talk to Nick and he sent me a pair of brown boots that were not to the measurements I'd given so I have a loose pair of boots. The second pair never arrived and I've chased but to no avail as the answer machine says to email and nobody responds to email. I'll be contacting the Fair Trading Office to report the company as they are taking people's money without providing the goods.
Unfortunately, I have had the same experience with this company.
I placed an order on 1st Jan (£107.50). By 5th Feb, I had not received the boots or heard from them regarding the delay.
Despite numerous telephone calls, e-mails and letters, to date, I have not received my boots / a refund or any response from the company.
Like others, I wish I had checked them out thoroughly beforehand. I do not make that mistake now - I check every company and always use a credit card so that I know I can get a refund if things still go wrong.
What does truly surprise me, is - how come this company is still allowed to operate? given they have Court Orders against them, Reports to Trading Standards and Google.
Just what does it take to stop them trading / advertising ??
I'm so sorry I didn't check this site before ordering from the Fitted Boot Store. They are useless. Despite their rather poor looking website, I trusted them because they came up high on Google search and I've never had a problem online shopping before. HOWEVER! They took £100 from me in January and I still have no boots, and all of my emails have been ignored. The phone is never answered despite them claiming the store is open from 10 - 4 daily. I am going to claim my money back via my credit card, but will be reporting them to the trading standard authorities in the hope that they will be shut down so that no one else becomes a victim to this fraudulent company. They give internet trade a very bad name!!
Wish I'd found this before placing my order! They told me my boots would be made next week (email sent to me 19/01/2010). I am not holding my breath! If they would communicate with their customers and be open and honest about the timescales involved then I think they would find us much more understanding. I have since discovered the amazing company which is DUO. I bought 2 pairs of boots in their sale and they're completely fab and I received them 2 days after I ordered them!!!!!!!! Regular email updates and brill customer service, defo recommend them as an alternative. Maybe Nick should get some advice from them.
I ordered my £90 boots back in April 09 (don't think that the "busy season" spans that far back, surely), they never arrived. I never received a response to numerous phonecalls (always got an automated msg) and emails. I did once speak to a woman on Nick's house phone who said he was not available. I reported the fitted boot store to trading standards, google, watchdog, channel 4 and various complaints websites. I also commented on and flagged his goks fashion clip on youtube which he later removed.
I went to the small claims court back in July (£25). He did not contest it annd the judge ruled in my favour, however he then did not pay up. I had to pay for a warrant to be issued to the bailiffs (£100). After the warrant had been issued for a month and I hadn't heard anything I called the Bailiffs at Bath county court. At that time they had 3 warrants outstanding. She assured me she would do what she could. On Dec 21st I finally received a call informing me that they had managed to get a cheque for the full amount owed (by that point £216). I received a cheque from the court last week (jan 20th) and it cleard into my account a few days ago!!!!!! So going through the small claims court does work.
I appreciate Nick may have bitten off more than he can chew but sticking his head in the sand is not acceptable. He should stop taking further orders until he has cleared his back log (if this is indeed the reason for the extreme delay and absence of any form of customer service). I see no excuse for this blatant disregard for the customer. We are the tip of the iceberg, think how many people are cutting their loses and writing this off as a mistake. He must be making a fortune. If he'd refunded me in the first instance he would have saved £126 in legal costs. I also feel sorry for the other online companies that will lose future business as a result of his incompetence.
I fell victim to the Fitted Boot Store on 2nd Dec when I ordered some boots but never get them. I only found all these comments here and on other forums after they didn't arrive and only wish I'd done it before i bought them. I'll never make that mistake again. Very expensive £100 mistake. Utterly useless! Although I've now emailed saying I want a refund or my boots by the end of the month or I'll get the money back via the bank. Very very disappointed. Nick if you are reading this, you have a great idea for a company, just please deliver your goods!
Hi same here if you are lucky enough to read this colomn first do not order your boots you have limited chance of actuall getting them I ordered and paid for them on the 9th of november still nothing they are now not even answering the phone blaming the weather for lack of staff i will have to see if i can claim back the hundred pound through the card company
Ordered boots 24 Sept, nothing arrived. Tried to contact via phone and email as others did ... nothing. Paid on debit card so thought refund would not be possible however b/society pursued it on my behalf and received the refund promptly. Imagine my surprise when last night by special delivery my boots arrived and they are beautiful! Having said that I will not be putting myself through the stress and hassle in future so will never use this company again. Good luck everyone.
needed new boots for a holiday I was going on and never got them in time, they arrived a month after I got back! what use is that? I couldnt have given them more notice either! will not be dealing with ever again
i ordered my boots on the 11th november, i then found this site while trying to get in touch with them the next day to find out how long i was expected to wait for my boots. i counld'nt believe the number of people the fitted boot store had taken money from and had'nt received boots. straight away i thought i would attempt to get a refund and not bother waiting around for the boots. two weeks of calling the number given on the website and emailing everyday i still got nothing. then all of a sudden i got through to a woman in the company office. quite shocked at this point (at getting to speak to someone and not an anwser phone) i asked the woman what was going on, she told me she had just started working there at 9am that morning and that she was completly bombarded by emails and messages that nick had'nt delt with. anyway, it turns out that this guy nick isn't trying to con people but is just not very good at running his business. since the reccommendation from channel 4's goks fashion fix last year the work load has been through the roof and he's been on his own and just cannot cope. i asked for a refund for the boots and she said she would get nick to do it. a week later i called back and told her i still hadn't received my money, she was quite cross with nick at this point because she had put it on his desk to do. i asked to speak to nick but she told me he was out but when he comes back she would call me and pass the phone to him,- that she did, i spoke to nick himself and he said he would call me back in 15 mins when he had completed the refund. an hour later i called him! he eventually did it but while i had him on the phone i asked him why he had such bad communication with his customers. he said he was very sorry and that he had read some of the reviews written about the fitted boot store but due to there only being him and the lady on the phone doing all the work he was overstretched. i did get my money back after 3 weeks of hassleing. please try to persist before going to small claims court, i don't think he is trying to con people just bad management. this probably won't help some of you that may have written off ever getting your money back but may help some.
best of luck to everybody!
was assured delivery in time for my husbands birthday but two weeks after the event still no boots. I have tried numerous times to get through to customer services but my efforts are in vain. In future I will use the high street as at least then I will be able to get what I want when I want. This company has so many negative comments here but aren't exactly going out of their way to try and deal with these dissatisfied customers are they? I am so furious that I am asking all customers that have a problem with this company to contact their local trading standards in the hope that no-one else will have to endure the problems that I have.
I, like so many of you have been ripped off. Boots ordered on 17 Sept and paid for in full. They didnt arrive. I emailed and I did get a response saying busiest season ever, they dont want to compromise on quality and sorry - they are coming with a 50% discount voucher for next time. They were apparently on the next delivery and would be with me in 1-2 weeks. Guess what, no boots at the begining of Dec. So I asked for a refund. They say they have debited it, but guess what - no money. I am not in the business of being ripped off and so I have contacted Trading Standards - the more complaints logged the more chance of getting this 'outfit' investigated and closed down. I find it beyond ridiculous that a company with trading habbits such as this can get away with such behaviour over such a prolongued period of time.
I will keep you posted.
Ordered boots for my wife on 1st October with delivery promised in 3 weeks. Suffice it to say, no boots, many phone calls to answerphone, many emails unresponded to. Finally put a claim into my credit card company who have refunded. Wish we had looked at this site before ordering!
Wish i had found this site before I ordered my boots 6 weeks ago. Despite multiple emails, I have had no response though they were quick to debit the £120 for the boots! Calls go to message telling you to email. Have emailed to cancel my order but what do I do now to get my money back when no one responds?
Ordered boots 8 weeks ago (Sept 09), and despite many emails have heard nothing. The phone number given on the website rings to a message that is currently blaming the postal strike for the order delays!
Have now asked for my money back - especially as I've now read these comments, wish I'd seen them before!
Please dont order from this company. I wish i had found this site before i ordered my £100 boots on 20 Sept 2009. You cant get through to anyone on the phone at this company and they dont reply to your emails so it pretty much leaves you feeling helpless.
I have asked numerous times for a delivery date for my boots that have come and passed, now i want a refund but am getting no joy on this front either.
It is not worth the hassel so go to a different web site and safe your self the time and money.
I came across this website whilst looking (again) for a number to contact Fitted Boot Store. I ordered my boots at the beginning of October and the £107 was taken straight away. They even emailed to say they could do my boots in a different colour and that my payment had been processed. After hearing nothing for a week I tried to phone. It was either engaged or went to a message which urged you to contact them by email - there was no way to leave a message. I did contact them by email. A lot. I got a standard email then eventually Nick emailed and said that they had been busy and that they were installing new lines. He was vague about my boots. I keep emailing and trying to phone and today found this website. I phoned my credit card company straight away and I urge you to do this - you can claim back after 30 days. I am waiting for my claim form. My advise is to not to use this company. Will update you on my situation when I hear more.
Having ordered my boots back in April (which I've never received) I have sent emails, letters via recorded delivery and made many phone calls (none of which were answered) and have had no response.
I have now gone through the small claims court. I have had no reply from the fitted boot store and have had to pay for bailiffs to collect the money I am owed. I'm still waiting to see if this happens. Good luck to everyone who is going through the same process.
My advice: do not order from the fitted boot store!!
Can anyone remember date and title of Channel 4 Gok's show which recommended the above store for women wanting made to measure boots for wider calves from this supplier based in Somerset. Was the name of the company actually mentioned on the show, or was it listed on list of suppliers on their website (which has now been deleted).
Hi, I finally got a cheque on Saturday for £77, the amount of money taken from my account in February 2009. I chose not to go through the small claims route as I feared losing even more money! Two weeks ago I decided to e-mail them and did on a daily basis and got a reply asking for my address, I sent that off but still wasn't optimistic I'd hear from them but I got the cheque as I said on Saturday and got it into my bank asap!!!! lol Thankfully the cheque has cleared so I thought I'd let you guys know not to give up hope, keep pressing them and putting on the pressure!!!! Good luck all!
Update: I finally got my money back, 9 months after I paid for a pair of substandard boots. I went through the small claims court and had to get a bailiff sent round to get the cash. I paid £85 for a pair of boots, and finally got a pay out of £158 which covered all my court charges. Please avoid this company unless you really want to throw away your cash!

Paid £100 early Jan & not heard a thing back, no boots, no response to emails, and no luck with phonecalls.
What an idiot for buying them!
What confuses me is that if they were on channel 4, then surely they successfully obtained boots, so it cant have been a spoof company surely?
Any idea how i cam get my money back now???
Thanks

Totally fed up with the lack of communication, employ someone extra if you are that busy!!
best of luck to everybody!
