Olci Construction Training   My experiences with this company have been good overall, but it’s a shame gmcregor didn’t have as successful a time. When I signed up I spoke to a guy there over the phone a couple of times and it was all really positive, just going thorugh what I wanted to do. I’d always wanted to have my own business so I didn’t have to work for someone else so we started from there. I had no experience when I started, just the odd attempt at really basic stuff at home! But I took to the course well enough, and at all the practicals the tutors were really helpful. I struggled with one of the early written exams, and had to resit. I did have to pay for it but the bloke I signed up with had told me that was how it worked so that was alright. After that I bucked my ideas up a bit and started putting a lot more effort in to my revision before the exams! The tutors were helpful as well and pointed me in the right direction after I’d failed. As for what you say about tutors helping in the exams I never saw anything like that, and I don’t how that would even work – in all my exams there was an outside person monitoring the exams so I don’t see how they’d pull that off! I’m doing my plumbing NVQ with OLCI now while I’m on site, all is going well. Once I’ve got a bit more experience I’ll start thinking about starting my own company. I can’t recommend OCI higly enough, it was all well organised, friendly people, and good support from everyone along the way. gmcgregor - Maybe you should try contacting a manager there or something, Im sure they’d be able to sort it all out for you.
